Our support group has tallied up the sales from Thurs night and we have a total of $160 for Dr. Jones..
2 weeks ago we got an idea to have a silent auction with members bringing items and wallets to the meeting..Emails were sent. We received quite an assortment including some lovely hand painted slates and other items and some homemade rolls..The suggestions included, new or like new, or homemade.
We only had 11 present and were able to raise $160 for the cause, so it ended up being easy for everyone and while not a large amount of money, we think it will help the cause. If we would have had a better attendance, I am sure we would have made much more..
We had (pre-printed) approx 25 papers with a place for minimum bid, item number, a space for description of the item and lines with name and phone #'s for the bidders to fill out. And remember pencils..
Again it was easy so if any support groups needs an idea, it should work..Good luck..

LMT & SE PENN. SUPPORT GROUP MEMBERS,
Way to go gals! Wonderful ideas....
LMT, did you/others see where Lynn Schyler, sp, replied again about her Mom, Dr. S., obituary that Ann-Ohio had posted, and thanked everyone for their replies, etc. She talked a lot about her Dad/family .... be sure to read it & let your support group members know. A tear jerker!! Bettyg

I only occasionally attend their support group meeting..It is over an hour away..

I have posted your Lymenet message as a fundraising idea on the list of current fundraisers! Imagine if every support group across the nation did a silent auction just once! http://www.lymesite.com/LLMD_FUNDRAISER.htm
I will try to have one at the next meeting I moderate.
Thanks for your support for Dr. Jones and all the kids that need him! Kay

Thanks Kay..If everyone did a little it would help..And even for those that are short on cash, with an auction, if you can find something you need or can use and help the cause at the same time, it is a win - win situation.
