I am one week into doxy treatment and I feel like I have made significant improvement. As crazy as that might sound, I have been feeling much better. My memory is improving, even my girlfriend is surprised. Well I hope that I continue to improve, since the thought dwells in my mind that it might just be the placebo effect. Well until then I will be taking doxy faithfully.

Has anyone experienced relief this fast or is this some sort of psychological experience that I am going through? I have not had major herx reactions. The only difference that I noticed when taking doxy is that the first three or four days I couldn't sleep and 2 days ago I got the weirdest pain on my right leg. It was like a stabbing pain as if an ant were biting my skin. When I checked there was nothing on my leg. It was really strange its never happened to me before, I have only had neurological problems.

According to Dr Burrascano, LLMD no longer in practice, a quick response to treatment or quick relapse after treatment is discontinued points to
Bartonella / BLO (Bartonella like organism). Bartonella also causes neurological symptoms which are out of proportion to muscular symptoms.
Bartonella typically cannot be eradicated by
Doxycyline alone. Nice to see the medication
is doing something and that your are feeling better at present.

If you continue showing signs of improvement it would be great if you could continue posting your progress on here. We need more members that discuss that progress can be made with the right treatment..

But some people never herx... so you could just be IMPROVING and improving!

I doubt it's a psychological response.

I agree with Lymetoo. I doubt it is psychological and some people just don't herx.

Also how long have you been sick? It seems like some people that catch it fairly early on can have a quick response to treatment.

Congrats on feeling better! I hope it continues for you. Keep us posted.

Sick since 10/2001. Tested CDC positive for Lyme 10/2008 through Quest and Igenex. Started treatment 1/2009 with LLMD. Lyme, Erichilosis, Chlamydophila Pneumoniae, Q Fever, Strep Syndrome and probably a few others I am forgetting.

Glad you are making improvement. I hope you don't plateau like I did. I make leaps of improvement in my first 6 weeks of treatment and then more gradually in the next 3 months. Unfortunately, since then I've stalled as we've gone after co-infections. So close to the end...and now I herx when I hit Bart / Babs hard.

Overall, I'm around 95% most days. But getting the last 5 % and eliminating the few remaining symptoms is a challenge for me!

Good luck and great to hear you are improving.

Bite date ?
2/10 symptoms began
5/10 dx'd, after 3 months numerous test and doctors

IgM Igenex +/CDC +
+ 23/25, 30, 31, 34, 41, 83/93

Currently on:

Currently at around 80% +/- most days.
