If you were doing well on just doxy would you take other meds or just take the doxy. It seems most can't get into remission so is it better to just feel better than overload the system.

I am still hoping to be symptom free with no meds.
I was doing well on just Biaxin, with only occasional symptom flares. Even then, I could function well.
But, I decided to get more aggressive treatment, in hopes of getting rid of it all.
I also have a fear of it getting much worse. I live with my daughter who is almost completely disabled by it.
So for me, I feel more treatment is the right choice. And, I'm still walking around fine on all these abx.
I am even noticing subtle improvement in energy and cognitive functioning. I didn't even realize I had those problems.

I have done better on ligher/gentler tx.
Did IV Doxy and crashed. Took a break and then did Biaxin, then Doxy,then pulse Doxy and Biaxin.
Dosage was pretty low but worked for me and I am steadily at about 75% better after being sick for almost 7 years.

I got so much better on monotherapy, low dose abx. Doxy and Mino after taking Zith.
I went undiagnosed for at least 8 years, but looking back on symptoms and bites... really over 20 years.
I was on monotherapy for over 2 years but right now can't afford an LLMD. So I've been off abx for the last 6 months. Symptoms slowly creeping back...but I'm still very functional.
If I can get rid of this sciatica and the morning neuro issues and some twitching...I'd probably feel nearly 100%

I began treatment with moderate to higher doses of different antibiotics and for a year and a half did not improve at all.
Then I moved to low dose Doxy for the last year and a half and have made great improvements on it. I am getting closer and closer to remission.
Low dose doxy has been like a miracle drug for me. I was very ill when I started on it and I am heading toward remission now.

I believe in agressive treatment. To each their own. If you are on Doxy and are improving..stay with it. If you have plateaued...it is time to change.
