I recently received the results of my heavy metal testing and lead, Gadolinium and Thallium are elevated. My doctor said the Gadolinium and Thallium are most probably from the many MRI's I have had with contrast.

I have done IV EDTA in the past but not since 2004 and have never had any problems doing chelation.

Since my doctor is not local any more, I want to try the Detoxamin Suppository route. Also, note that I have not had Lyme since 2003 and I no longer see an LLMD.

My doc does not use the suppositories, so I would welcome any info you can provide me with such as how often you use them, other supplements you take for detox and binding, any required blood work and your experience with using this product.

In the past liver enzymes and kidney clearance were always tested and that should not be a problem for me.

The product suggests using them every other day? I know a friend who uses them three times a week and the packaging does give you the dose to use per one's weight.

In the past, while doing IV EDTA I also used ALA, NAC, cilantro, vitamin C and bentonite clay and a multi mineral supplement. I also used Chlorella but wonder if that is still OK since the best used to come from Japan.

Are these supplements still being prescribed or have things changed. Any suggestions, additional supplements, doses, etc would be very helpful.

I would truly appreciate any insight you can provide me with, as I have never used Detoxamin.

Feel free to PM me, if necessary.

Much thanks.

I've used Detoxamin, with almost no side effects. It says to use every other day, but I have used it up to every three days, and sometimes less often. It will not only release the heavy metals, but whatever parasites, bacteria, fungus and gunk are hiding in biofilm.

The reason I space it out, is to give my body time to detox. You're on the right track with the binders, antioxidants and detoxifiers.

The suppository can be cut in half or fourths, so you can start slowly. Also, buying the strongest strength, which I think is 1500 mg., will save you money.

Thanks Baileypup.

Anyone else have experience with using Detoxamin suppositories?

I have used it in the past(about 6 months ago) when my lead was found to be above normal. I did it every other day and actually did not noticed any die off or side effects. I was on clindamycin+quinin+biaxin+flagyl combo at the same time.

This week I have started it again, since I'm doing Parastroy, to bind any heavy metals that are being released when parasites die.

So far, again, no additional symptoms on top of my herx from Parastroy. I do take Chlorella though.

anuta,

Have you retested yet to see if you have had an improvement in your lead levels?

Also how much chlorella do you take and what brand do you use. Do you take it with or without food?

I thought most of the good stuff came from Japan and is now contaminated due to the nuclear reactor leaks.

Do you take any other supplements or chelation?

abxnomore,

I did not re-test my heavy metals after the first round of detoxamine.

I use Swanson chlorella- 7-10 of 500 mg pills 2-3 times per day, depending on how heavy my herxes are.I take it 1 hour apart from food and/or meds.
I still have my "before Focusima bunch".

I also sometimes take charcoal or french green clay, but I think for heavy metal chelation chlorella is the best.

At the last LLMD visit she recommended me to take CAPTOMER-250 from Thorne research (it is DMSA suppl.) in alternation with detoxamin, but I did not start this yet.

I think cilantro tincture would be a good addition (Biopure has one) too.

Anuta, some people react strongly to DMSA, especially to an amount as large as 250mg all in one dose.

You may tolerate it OK, but I would suggest that you take a half dose the first day you try it to be on the safe side.

Ukcarry, thank you for warning. I will start DMSA slowly.

Any one else using Detoxamin Suppositories?

If so, how often and what other supplements are you using for detox.

I've used Detoxamin. Very strong product. I had a difficult time in the beginning. I felt poisoned. The only thing that would take the edge off is a Vit C IV.

I called the sales rep and he said the largest amounts of metals dump in the beginning, which made sense with my reaction as they got easier as time went on.

I took them every second night while alternating with an oral chelator (DMSA I think, it was a while ago)

If I remember correctly I was also taking bentonite clay 2X a day for mopping up.

My LLMD prefers me to use chelators on a 3 days on, 11 days off cycle, with plenty of minerals between.

Although I started to react very strongly to DMSA by cycle 3, even after 300mg in three doses throughout the first day [ie 100mg x 3]and had to stop, the EDTA suppositories [not Detoxamin brand] used at night seemed to be easier for me to tolerate.

I am about to restart chelation with the same cycle pattern, but this time 50mg DMSA x 3 for 3 days, 11 days off then EDTA suppositories for 3 nights, 11 off [ie. rotating cycles of DMSA and EDTA as gently as possible].

For binders, I use Biopure Chlorella P, modified citrus pectin and a capsule of Bentonite clay + various herbs, psyllium, flax, charcoal included.

It makes sense to try the Detoxamin as half a suppository the first time if you think you might get a fierce reaction.

Good luck,

Carry

Thank you for the additional information. Is any one taking ALA and NAC while doing chelation?

Would love feed back on the ALA and NAC, doses, how often and with or without food.

When do most of you take the binders? Do you take them the next day?

Also in the past I was told to take vitamin C as ascorbic acid, not buffered C or calcium ascorbate. Any one else who was told that?

I take Metabolic Maintenance ALA on an empty stomach. I take 600 mg. a day.

I take the binders the next day.

I've used them and found them pretty good.

I do everything by energy testing, and every other day was commonly what I tested for. It felt good how it matched the instructions.

Sometimes I needed extra minerals like calcium and zinc while taking these. Also sometimes NAC.

I'm sending this up just one last time.

I feel at ease from you input that Detoxamin would be a good way to go.

I know detox protocol supplements do vary and just wanted to see if others had anything else to share.

I have been using them and it wasn't until the third week in that I began having problems. Metals are a serious issue for me. With your having done the IV I wouldn't think it would have a dramatic effect on you.

My Dr. explained it to me that as some metals are being pulled out your body starts dumping the load and this is why you do not have an immediate reaction. I felt better the first few times then like I was being poisoned. I was using 750mg twice a week. I think it all depends on how serious your metal issue is and if your detox pathways are open. I have a hard time sweating and have swollen lymphs all the time. So these thins just don't work well for me. I am not giving up on them though. Just slowing down.

I'm sorry to hear you are having a serious issue and hard time chelating the metals.

I agree with what you said. For those who have a super hard time, it's mostly because their body can't get rid of the metals that are being mobilized and then they end up toxic. Many have methlylation issues that complicate things along with lyme, yeasts, etc.

I hope your doctor can help you through this with the right testing and supplements to aid the process.

Again I'm glad to get more feedback on Detoxamin. I really don't feel like I could entertain weekly IV chelation and there really isn't any doctor to get to conveniently where I live that I trust.

For those who use clay as a binder, do you drink the clay too or let it settle. I always drank the clay in the past but I have seen directions on some clays, including Redmond clay, that say that you can let the clay settle and only drink the water you add to it.

I thought the clay is what binds the metals?? I find this confusing.
