went to a new doctor, reviewed all my labs that had been done., said the following:

positive for:

Epstein barr
cmv
hhv6
parvovirus

bands 31 and 41 positive for lyme

said I probably have had it for a longtime.

Treats viruses with antivirals, not transfer factor.

Wants me to do the following:

see a health coach for an anti-inflammatory diet
Epson salt baths nightly
lemon water daily
probiotics

see them in a month.

what do you think of this?

I am so off balance, said I probably have neuro lyme but that could also be from high inflammation in my brain.

Positive Igg bands indicate you have had something for awhile. Igm indicates a more recent infection.

There is a new book out on EBV by Kasia Kines and you can look on Amazon for that. I have not read it. EBV is a very common infection.

I use Epsom salts in my evening bath. Your skin can absorb the magnesium in it and it has been good for my skin.

My balance has been greatly effected by Mycoplasma pneumonia. Have you been tested for that? It is the most common lyme co-infection. I have neuro lyme and was bit in the head and one side of my head has been more swollen than the other. I'm sure that has caused the balance issue.

If you take antibiotics you should also take probiotics 2 hours later to prevent being overrun by candida. I presume that things are the same with antivirals but do not know for sure.

Re inflammation, I do something very simple and cheap - I take capsules of turmeric powder daily - one in the am and pm, 00-size capsules. I get the powder at the health food store and dip empty capsules in it. It takes down inflammation in joints and muscles for me. It's an experiment, to see if it lowers inflammation.

The other comment I have, when you say you feel off balance, I can get that if my C1 vertebra is out of place. A good cervical neck chiropractor can check the neck.

Also, are you currently treating the Lyme with anything?

Here's a link on how to treat viruses.

https://www.treatlyme.net/guide/kills-viruses-a-brief-guide/

My LLMD didn't treat my viruses.
The reasoning is if you control Lyme and co-Infections, then your immune system will be able to control the viruses due to the lower burden of infections in your body.

I don't know if I agree with that.
Our immune systems ALWAYS need help and supported measures. High dose Vit C, transfer factors, ATP Fuel, D-Ribose, ect. . .

I'm with Robin .. but I can't tolerate turmeric .. I take a derivative of it. I take NOW brand curcumin for inflammation.

I have high levels of CMV.

I bet it's the parvo that's really hitting you hard. When will the doctor start you on an anti-viral?

She said to come back in a month. I am not sure when she is treating me., I am more confused than ever. I have transfer factor but she said do not take it yet. She wants me to get the inflammation down first before starting any meds. I don't agree with it. I am suffering badly.

We're all different so we can only say what works for us - each of us is an experiment re treatment.

My brain fog was stopped when I started taking Armour thyroid, which delivers both T3 and T4 thyroid hormone. I bloodtested hypothyroid - that's how the doctors knew, and that's something doctors can test for.

When I felt better, my doc explained it was like the thyroid was waking up my metabolism again, that it had gone into hibernation, like a bear in winter!

Re symptoms, it's a matter of trying something to see if it works. I am definitely off balance when my neck is out - ie subluxated. It takes a good chiropractor to check that out, one who's very good with neck adjusting.

Re IBS, you could check out websites by Josh Axe and Donna Gates for how to go gentle with healing the gut.

Drunk all the time? Well, a bad case of candida can do that too. Check out the symptoms for that and see whether you think you match anything.

Goal here is to get treatment bingos, so it's a matter of testing plus experimenting.

Re: nightly epsom salts bath.

1. Avoid hot water, getting too hot. Cozy warm for no more than 20 minutes so as not to stress your liver and your adrenals.

Many (most) with lyme can be very heat sensitive so it's best to avoid getting overheated.

Also be sure to rinse thoroughly in clear water, slightly warm but never cold. You don't want a start contrast in temps as that can shock your adrenals.

2. If you have skin or uro-genital irritation, best to do short showers, not baths. The epsom salts can be a bit caustic to some skin types.

It would be possible to make foot soak with a little epsom salts and just soak your feet (as long as the skin on feet is good). You can absorb magnesium that way. Do not put too much in, though, so it's kind to your skin.

Linda .. it really does sound like candida/yeast to me ..Did your doctor mention that?

You might want to try some NOW curcumin for the inflammation. I can't do without it myself. Take with food!

thank you everyone for your replies. I am not in any treatment at all. I don't understand why not. She said to do lemon water, Epson salt baths, and see her end of June. I am so sick. Why am I waiting another month for treatment? Why did she tell me not to take the transfer factor that I have from another llmd? I am so tired of getting up feeling drunk, sweating like a pig, shaking, what is this all from? Yes I tested high for mycoplasma pneumonie, but I am on nothing, Doesn't make any sense to me and I cannot suffer another month without some sort of treatment.
