Hi,

i read this within a couple of posts that if you take artemisinin alone for babesia, resistance is likely. Is this highly likely? The reason I ask is that I was on artemisinin for 5 months before being on mepron/zith. I still take it with the mepron/zith, but if this is true, it is pointless?

My LLMD is the one who told me to take artemisinin and she never mentioned anything about developing a resistance to it. I was taking it while I was on biaxin/plaquenil.

thanks, maureen

I sure hope not. I'm taking artemisinin without anything else because my insurance will not cover malarone, and my mepron copay is too high. I'd have to sell my home.
