Did anyone notice it seems like he threw in the towel on his blog? Nothing since May 2010. How odd since he was so dedicated to his blog.

I assume that he just got incredibly busy, given the huge discrepancy between supply of and demand for LLMD's.

He mentioned something in his blog about being under investigation or being in a trial. Maybe that had something to do with it.

It is disappointing because I enjoyed reading his blog. Maybe he'll pick it up again this fall.

It was my understanding that he was being scrutinized by the state medical board. Having the blog just opens him up more for that.

I think that is over with. Maybe he is just busy or ran out of things to say.

I don't frequent the boards much anymore but I'm a former patient of his, 7 months off abx and symptom free.
I'm not sure why he isn't blogging currently but he actually told me himself back in Feb that he had been cleared and no longer under investigation, which evidently was a 3 yr process. Hope that clears up any confusion.
I learned so much from his posts, I wish he'd continue now that my brain can actually understand it, lol

I am currently a patient of his. Part of the reason that I started going to him was because of his blog...it was intelligent, well thought out, scientific and he seemed to be getting folks well. Unfortunately, I am not one of the well ones. I am still struggling... [Frown]

I understand from one of his patients that he has serious health problems right now.

Evidently it is a rare autoimmune disease. Apparently he has limited use of his arms. He said he had lyme in the past and is doing his own antibiotic treatment in addition to the standard treatment for his autoimmune disease.

More on the doc:

He's not doing well. He uses a computer to dictate his notes as he can't write well. He says he doesn't know what is wrong with him. He's been through a number of tests but doesn't seem to have a clear cut diagnosis. He told a patient he doesn't believe it is lyme.

Thanks for the update TF...I'm really sad to hear that. I personally cannot thank him enough for getting me well, he was good to me - his manner is more like a friend than a Dr.
I hope he puts his health first and gets better soon,

This is really sad to hear. Could he have the same disease that McDonald, the researcher came down with? I don't know the name of it.

I doubt he will see this but I just want to add my best wishes for discovery and recovery.

I have learned a lot from his blog and now will go back over and try to copy and save what I can in case he has to disengage the site. Websites can be expensive to keep going.

His dedication has been - and continues to be - needed, helpful and admirable. Best wishes for the very best outcome.

Hi all,
I am a patient of his as well. Saw him monday and he looks like he's struggling.

He uses the computer for dicatation. He used this before he got sick.

He said Monday the doctors don't know what's wrong with him either. He went to see some neurologist at Georgetown and they are puzzled as well.

He found my babs/bat when the other llmd missed it.

He's wonderful, responsive, and I to have learned a lot from his blog.

His posts were very informative, and we need all the practicing LLMD's, and information about Lyme, that we can get.

I am sorry to hear he is so ill.

His blog was one of the first things I read when I had just found out I had Lyme.

I had no idea what Lyme was.

He really helped me to understand the disease and took some of the mystery out of it. Even if I was running on about one brain cell.

My thoughts and prayers are with him.
