I am reallly on the fence. I mean, how can I tell my 21 year old not to smoke it and then go puff away in my room like a deviant?

and then do you tell people??? like relatives?

what if I act like a stoner and they all figure it out? [lick]

Why not try the CBD oil first? It's legal.

Can you take the medical marijuana in an edible form, so it does not damage the lungs?

That way your son won’t see you smoking and you won’t stink up the house.

Maybe you can eat the flowers, buds, or the whole plant in a smoothie. As long as the cannabis is raw and not heated, you will not experience a high;

https://hightimes.com/edibles/get-high-eating-raw-weed/

I don't know what state you live in, whether the plant form is available, but here is a Legal Weed Map ( Michigan and New Hampshire look like the best states, allowing up to 12 plants).

https://www.oberk.com/marijuanalawsbystatein2020

Oliva Newton John and her husband, John Easterling are BIG proponents of cannabis. Amazon John (husband) grows all her cannabis and herbal medicines. Here is an interview they did for Culture magazine;

https://culturemagazine.com/olivia-newton-john-and-john-easterling/

Olivia's stage 4 cancer protocol;

Guanabana
Camu camu
Cat's claw
Sangrede de grado
Lion's main mushrooms
Algae and focus was used to detox and chelate previous extensive radiation treatment.
Estrogen blocker
1500 milligrams daily of cannabinoids
(Ratio of 600 milligrams of THC and 200 milligrams of CBD oil.

She also juices raw cannabis plant flowers.

Olivia's markers are down and her tumors are shrinking or disappearing.

Hello Folks
I am a former poster on this site in early 2000. After a year of being sick, I was Dx with Lyme in 2001. It has been a long road but I have my health back. I owe a lot of my success to Medical Marijuana (MMJ).

I have to caution, MMJ is not for everyone and it is not a cure all. It helps me deal with my symptoms which in turn allows me a better life..

The short story is this.. I suffered with daily headaches for 17 years and also had arthritic knees.. I was on Opioid pain meds and injections in the knees. I also had fatigue and lots of neuro stuff. I still feel that I am infected.

I was tired and it was wearing me down. Resigned my self to a life of meds and feeling like crap. I had considered MMJ, but what about all the bad things I heard..I read a lot on the topic and I found out all the bad was wrong and MMJ and CBD can do a lot of good. In June of 2018 I had my first MMJ.

After two puffs I had a better outlook and more positive attitude. On the second day I omitted two Oxys from my day. What? Didn’t even think about taking them. I talked to my pain Doc and after a year of weaning off,on June of 2019 I had my last Opioid. Withdrawal was not easy but MMJ helped ease the symptoms.

After two weeks of MMJ my wife asked about my headaches. What? I had to think. Haven’t had one in two weeks. As a matter of fact, I have not had one in a year and a half.. I am not saying I am cured..I feel that MMJ provides relief..

Remember my arthritic knees. Synvisc injections twice a year. I have not had one since January 2018. My knees still hurt and I may need a new one but I am more mobile than previous.

On top of all this I no longer take Remeron for mood disorder and Nuvigl to keep me awake. The only Med I take is MMJ and a blood pressure pill.

Not everyone has the success that I have had. There is enough evidence out there in favor of giving MMJ a try. It is important to read up and make an informed decision.
I am not an expert and not a medical professional. Just a regular guy that wants to do some good by sharing his story..I have started a Twitter with MMJ info @ MMJMark1

I will gladly answer any questions on my experience. Just ask.

Mark D

thanks Mark.

I think for some it is very helpful. I think it would benefit me, but I am more worried about my adult kids and how to justify it to them. they will def. figure it out that I am on something. and it will be like if I do it why not anyone and im not sure I want that wheel to turn because of me, you know what I mean?

You will have to be very careful since you have MCAS. I'm afraid to even try the CBD oil because of my salicylate sensitivity.

I struggled with this same thing before I gave MMJ a try.
Part of my issue was because of what I was taught at school, church, etc. Marijuana was Bad.. this is not true.

I was concerned about my wife and two adult boys (24-25) and how they would view my new idea.. Wife was apprehensive and the boys were alright with it. I also got the OK from my docs who unfortunately are not MMJ literate.

I use MMJ as a medicine to get well, not get high. I use small quantities and go about my day. It helps me stay focused and helps me get things done. It is not the old stereotype about the stoner on the couch.

If you asked my wife now about MMJ and she will tell you it was the best thing for me and I should have started sooner.

Way back I immersed myself in all things Lyme..This forum, books, reports, etc. I did the same with MMJ and shared the info with the family which helped them understand what I was about to do. Once I finally made the choice, they were glad I did.

The marijuana of today is not like I recall in HS. Medical Marijuana is top quality and grown under the best conditions. It is also tested for chemicals. If you purchase your MMJ in a licensed dispensary you can be assured of quality..

There are a variety of forms of consumption.
Smoking. Whole Flower
Vaping cartrages
Edibles
Dry herb vaping
Tinctures
Capsules
Metered dose like a asthma puffer
Suppositories
Patches.

Each state has different rules and regs.. check your own state MMJ program to see what is available

In NJ the only items available are whole flower, vape carts, lozgenges and tinctures

yes, I guess I would have to find the right one for me. I wish I could just try it without having to go through all the red tape and $$ to get it , like right now. my SX are really bad this week.

so there is a long list for drs in my area on the website but how do I know which one to pick? some of them, if not most look like cancer drs or the like and probably RX just for that specialty

I use medical marijuana for pain. It works better than all my prescription drugs.

I started out with CBD oil, and while it is a great anti inflammatory it really cannot help with higher pain levels.

The benefit of a medical marijuana card, you can buy higher quality CBD oil at a dispensary. CBD oil sold legally across the country is made from the hemp plant. In a dispensary you can buy CBD made from the marijuana plant, all with different ratios. 1:1 will get you high, I do 1:10 (THC/CBD) which does not get me high but has trace amounts of THC which seems to help with pain better.

I personally do not like edibles, they can take hours to come into their full effect and they always make me feel very high. I prefer the body high to the head high and thus I only do edibles when I am in incredible pain and want to zonk out.

I prefer the vape cartridges or the high CBD strains, like charlottes web. You can roll into into a joint and take a few hits, or, you can buy a dry herb vaporizer. This is much better than smoking it, and vaping a liquid cartridge does bother my lungs more than dry vaping. A dry herb vape would be Pax.

There are many strains of marijuana that are created for people with pain or seizures, and these do not have a high psychoactive affect. They give a body high vs a head high. So medical marijuana is nothing like what you’d smoke in high school. That stuff is crap. I vape regularly and I’m barely ever high, no anxiety or laughing. Of course, if you want that they sell it. But there is something for everyone now.

If you're using cannabis for medical purposes, that's different than recreational - that you can tell your kids. CA has been a medical marijuana state for a couple decades now. There are all kinds of ways to take it.

Some of us can handle it and some not. I am unfortunately one who cannot. But I encourage the trial, to find out if it helps.
