Saw this posted on an AOL web site and wanted to pass it on.
Please feel free to add your two cents. It seems we hear more about marriages that fail or unhealthy so nice to hear about ones that are do well.
Married for nearly 40 years, Connie, 67, and Earl Green, 70, who are retired and living in Florida, say it doesn't take a lot to keep their decades-long romance alive.
"The first thing that comes to mind is having respect for one another," says Connie. "That's big!
We also have similar interests, which is nice when you're deciding what to watch on TV in the evening."

Married for almost 37 yrs. ( I was 5 when I got married!! )
Seems our marriage got better as we got older. You finally wise up about a lot of things and learn to let unimportant things ride.
I WISH we liked similar programs!!! We have several TV's in the house!! We do enjoy music together and have "like minds" on many subjects.
Here's to all those who are happily married! Have a great Valentine's Day!!

My husband and I are happily married too.
He gave me a really pretty necklace, a card and some red roses for Valentine's Day.
We spent the day with our 2 beautiful Grandsons, ages 3 and 6, going to church, breakfast, lunch and then playing at our house.

My husband and I have been married almost 26 years.
My parents were married 61 years when my mom passed away, three years ago.
My in-laws have been married 65 years.
I agree, respect is number one!!
