Hello everyone!

Recently I have been experiencing either a bart or babs relapse. My llmd put me on two weeks of cipro to see if the nightime burning, fever and sweats decrease with this med. If this treatment fails than it is back to babs meds again.

I was wondering if it is possible to have such a nasty herx from bart only two days after taking cipro?

I never tested positive for bart, but after nine months of intensive babs treatment I can't imagine this still being a babs infection.

Sorry to blab on, my mind is a little foggy today and I am getting very nervous.

Thanks everyone. [Frown]

I too am on Cipro and the herxing for me has been pretty close to non stop and was fast. Try to hang in there since it's suppose to be good for bart, for those that can tolerate it.

I am Wondering WHY these guys are STILL precsribing CIPRO for anything associated with Lyme disease?

I sure hope you folks do NOT have colons.

I KNOW of at least three people locally who have LOST their colons BECAUSE of taking Cipro.

Geeez, what a bummer you all could be in for.

I lost MY colon in 1994 from taking Cipro earlier, IMO. THAT is one of the side effects you can READ about.

NOW I have an appointment on Thursday to see IF I have to have surgery, again, for the third time because the stoma has ruptured from my belly. The surgery is NO fun at all.

I took Cipro for 24 days FOR Lyme Disease, AFTER I had already lost my colon 5 years earlier, so the doctor said at least it can't destroy my colon so he gave it to me.

AND you know, In 5 days, ALL my Lyme symptoms had dissappeared. I kept taking it for the 24 days.

HOWEVER, the symptoms were gone for only about 8 or 9 months. Then slowly, but surely, I relapsed. UTIL it got to the point that I thought I was going to die.

My doc would NOT give me any more abx of ANY KIND because he is of the opinion, like the CDC, that you are CURED after 21 days of abx.

THAT was when I was forced to go on my own and chose first Herbs, then Herbs AND Abx, to TRY to cure this insideous disease myself. Well the herbs did wonders, however the abx, killed my stomach, and set me back for several weeks.

Am I cured today. NO, I don't believe so. Do I feel better than a year and a half ago before I started my self treatment.

A resounding YES!

DO I want to feel better? YES.

Will I? I don't know, but I sure hope so.

PS: I NEVER herxed on Cipro.

Jim

Savebabe,

I was on Cipro for a urinary infection a few weeks ago. I had a terrible herx after the second day. I will never take it again. [Frown]

Hope you feeling better
Take care your friend Cassie [kiss]
