I am 32 and have suffered from strange visual problems since i was 19. I am brand new to this forum and Lyme all together. I am wondering if these symptoms sound at all Lyme related to anyone.
I see wavy lines and heat wave like waves in my visual field all the time. It is accompanied by a strange dizzy, "floating-like" sensation in my spine and head. I also see halos around lights and trailers if like if I were to move a flashlight around in the dark there will be a line behind it. Much like things lsd users describe. I never used drugs except small doses of marijuana as a teen. Also have had my eyes thouroughly checked at MAYO and UCLA. Have had tons of doc workups and nothing. I suffer greatly and am disabled from these ailments at age 32.
Could this be Lyme?

Steve,
Welcome aboard the Lyme Train. Vision symptoms are common with Lyme. It seems like we mostly hear about "floaters" and loss of visual contrast sensitivity (difficulty adapting changes in the amount of light). I have ahd both, both much improved, and at one point could not drive in dappled light, such as one gets when driving through forest.
Check the newbie links for a lyme symptom list. It's probable that you have additional symptoms that you have just gotten used to or moved lower on your priority list and try to ignore. Mainly, you need to read. There is an incredible amount of good information on this site and due to the politics of Lyme, you may very well need to become your own advocate.

YES it could be- and when you hear that Lyme is only 2-3% in CA- in 2003 they cfound 17.8% in ADULT ticks in SC- so they don't really know yet how much Lyme is here-!!!
