I know what you're saying.
It's just that there are people on this site who are sick in a different way.
Apparently they don't have a site for their sickness, so they come here.
I know we don't want new members seeing stuff like that, but I'm sure anyone who goes on any site is aware that sickos post everywhere.
As long as the moderators keep doing the great job they're doing and getting the garbage off right away, I'm sure they newbies will know that this is a legitimate site dedicated to helping people.

There are trolls and spammers on every Internet site. I find it's gotten worse since the recession hit.

They need to find something better to do with their time then bother us....
Yes trolls are everywhere, it just bothers me that they can put whatever they want on here and not get in trouble...
I have been on here for a little over a year and haven't noticed it as bad as I do now.

roy and all others,
with this NEW board, we have this wonderful tool to use found at the bottom of EVERY post....
no. of posts, your state, logged, and this barely legible!! ************************************************************
Report this post to a Moderator ***********************************
please use this for EVERY porn, spammer, etc. that you see here on the board! this message goes to:
lou b, jenifer, toby, tom, & 1-2 other people ... all board members
whoever gets it first takes action then.. DO NOT COUNT ON SOMEONE ELSE REPORTING THIS, YOU DO THIS PLEASE! *****************************
you don't see alot of stuff i see as i report it promptly in the WEE am hours as i'm reading here. it's the SAME HEALTHY TROLL TROUBLEMAKERS who come to harass us.
it's these same folks who collect PRIVATE email addresses and phone nos. you folks show on your posts!!!
when i see yours posted, i send you a PM politely asking you to remove them due to these ROYAL PAIN IN THE BUTTS! i'm concerned about your safety and your family.
betty
also lou b bans and nukes them and their pc addresses; many with THEIR addresses are banned promptly and their profile will show SPAMMER on there!

I used to frequent another site that had about a dozen moderators who were also posters .... it kept the trolling/spamming to a minimum, but they tell me it's constant work.
The mods here don't know unless it gets reported ... and then they are pretty quick about getting it off.

If you are taking about spam for various sites and products, most of that is posted by automated software all over the internet.
It is annoying, but realize it probably isn't specific people targeting us. The software usually will target any message board possible since it easy for them to do.

Don't you have to set up an account in order to post?
I think it has to be actual people....
bettyg,
I do see the report icon and will use it in the future.
I thank you and all of you that are up in the wee hours of the morning weeding through this "stuff".
It makes me sick to my stomach. Like I said I haven't noticed it that much until recently.
I feel bad for the people that are new to the site that want help and stumble upon the garbage.

yes, they do have to set up accounts.
i believe we've had 1-3 examples where they were somehow able to work around the system; i know several of us caught that on their 1st time posts; where it would not show member, etc. AFTER their name on left side when we post. later.....

Keep in mind most of these posters are angry people who have been banned from the site and have an axe to grind.
They find ways to get around the IP ban, create a new profile and wreak as much havoc as they can before getting caught.
It has happened many times over on www.lymefriends.com, but it's been more quiet lately.

Tracy,
Yeah, seems like they have nothing better to do.
This past week I have noticed a 2. That is saying much because I don't notice much of anything!
It is very disturbing that people do this kind of stuff.
I can only imagine what some of the members on here have seen throughout the years.....
