I've noticed on days my symptoms are most severe, more floaters are often visible in my field of vision, and I've recognized two, possibly three, types of floaters.
The first type of floaters are transparent, circular, and appear to be 'nucleated', meaning, they contain a darkened center circle.
The second type of floaters look identical to the first, only they appear to have 'flagella', two of them.
I sometimes see a third type...a couple of circles, lots of flagella...only I believe these might just be several "type 2's" tangled up together?
What confuses me is that I've never seen these flagellated floaters actually thrash around or move in any way?...I've only seen them just glide across my field of vision?
Are these floaters really bartonella? My pupils don't work, that's for sure. Are these floaters dead bartonella? Dormant bartonella? Is bartonella supposed to be motile?
Anybody else have these?

I know this..I have them..worse on my sickest days. They move and change all the time, the way I suspect lyme keetes do.
Two meds have worked to get rid of them. Bactrim with rifampin (got rid of all my symptoms) and now lariam, ketek, flagyl is really having a good impact on them. They are about 80% better.

The circular ones with the darkened center are red blood cells. My brother in law is an opthamologist, and he lets me look in my daughter's eyes and you can see red blood cells moving along the capillaries in her eyes. It is so neat.
I have these circular floaters that you described and they look exactly like the red blood cells.
I also have the long skinny flagellated looking floaters that you described. Some of mine are tangled up, too. If you look up candida ( I think Wikipedia has a photo of a candida cell ),mine looks exactly like that.

I have noticed things in my vision if I'm looking at a light colored wall or something similar... they look like tiny threads with a little dot at the end.... they glide across my line of site, can't make them move by blinking... had wondered if this was an indicator of lyme???

Mine don't move if I blink either, only if I shift my eye to look in a different direction, and even then they appear pretty stationary.
But red blood cells? Even the flagellated ones?
I'll have to look up candida cells, too...thanks!

Ordinary common floaters can look like threads (i.e. 'chetes) but there's debate about whether or not 'chetes can actually be seen in the eye.
However, when I'm feeling particularly bad I also notice an increase in floaters. It may simply correlate to an increase in inflammation and/or cytokines though.

I see these exact same type of floaters. I think these are just common floaters. Ketes are way too small to see with your eyes. If that were the case it would be very simple to get a diagnosis.

Ditto. We go through this about every 6 months.
