I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I have to ask instead - what's your bart rash like? I got a weird rash, mostly on my back, like a bunch of teenage acne almost - bright red spots that stick out a bit and itch quite a bit.
Are you sure it's bart?
I have some symptoms of bart, but there is a lot of overlap with lyme, so I'm wondering if this rash is typical.
Actually, I may be able to help some. I had the rash last summer and took a few baths with a ground oatmeal powder that did wonders for the itching. It's Aveeno natural colloidal oatmeal

What you describe David sounds similar to what I have.
How long have you had it? The Aveeno bath sounds like a good idea.
Some are red raised dots clumped together. A few are several red dots in a more or less straight lines. And sometimes just red areas.
Those are on my lower back. I have one on my leg which is a series of dots in a row about two inches with the first larger and then tapering down.
I'm thinking bart because it came with a slight rise in temp one day along with headache and feeling very angry and agitated.
I'm still only guessing, but some of the bart pictures I've seen look like what I have.
Also someone on the board posted recently that her LLMD said that it's common for bart rashes to itch.

I had the rash for maybe 3 weeks, probably back in June, maybe early July. I used the aveeno for a week or so and it seemed to go away. A few weeks later I got hit with the stiff neck, wandering muscle pains, brain fog, memory problems, aphasia, etc etc and got an Igenix test and 3 weeks of doxy. The test showed a couple of bands with a single '+' and an IND or two, so the doc says it's not lyme. The symptoms all got better but didn't go away completely. About 10 days after going off abx I called the doctor and got some more because all the neuro symptoms were coming back.
Three more weeks helped, but again didn't fix it. I probably went two weeks without, then went to pulsing doxy - 400-600 mg three days a week, 200 the other four. A full month of that seemed to pretty well fix me up - clear thinking, not angry, etc - but I went to tetracycline for a week and all the neuro symptoms all came back again. And about the time I went on tetracycline the "bart" rash came back.
I went back to doxy about a week ago but am still trying to get back to where I was. Given how fast I went downhill on tetracycline I'm guessing that one of two things is going on. Either it's bart and tetracycline isn't nearly as effective against it, or it's lyme in my brain and the tetracycline doesn't cross the blood-brain-barrier as well as doxy. I know it doesn't cross the BBB well, I just can't say for sure I have lyme IN the brain as well as ON it:)
I live in the Northeast, so I'm sure mine isn't RMSF. I'm not sure if I want to "fix" the rash again or see if it gets worse and show my doctor. Given that doxy slows it down, I'm thinking it's a BLO and not common bart.
Suggestions welcome.

Well, my symptoms are being slowed down by doxy. They are for sure from Bartonella hens.(Lab test positive)

I live near Pittsburgh...and I have RMSF. RMSF is no longer confined to the West. Just thought I'd let you know. Have you looked at RMSF rash pics? http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/medical/IM02310 I didn't have the rash, but tested positive with the blood work. Rockey Mountain Spotted Fever is tick-borne.

It's not like that rash at all. Little red dots. If I was a teenager and they didn't itch you'd swear it was acne.
