I've read some people in my age group (over 20) with CFS/ME can possibly benefit from HGH. I wonder if that's true for Lyme or CFS/Lyme.
I've never been formally diagnosed with CFS/ME, but I fit just about all the criteria. In fact, I probably fit CFS criteria better than Lyme criteria.
I am seeing a CFS/Lyme specialist (MD) on Friday that used to work with Dr. Cowden. I am hoping he is going to have ideas how I can get my energy up, neuroexcitory state down, correct my autonomic nervous system issues, and what to do to start exercising again.
I'm getting better, but I want to cover all bases so I will get ALL THE WAY better. I say don't leave a stone unturned.
I do have all positive tests for a Lyme infection (and plenty of herxes on top of it), but I lived where the first major CFS outbreak was (which worries me a bit).
I respond well to some protocols that originated from Autism and CFS groups as well, but I really hope it's just Lyme causing the CFS type stuff. It doesn't seem that the CFS people ever get better.
So back to the question: Anyone ever try HGH? Did you have a positive experience?
I'm not sure if the doctor does this type of therapy, but it's going to be something I will bring up.
It seems that Dr. Cowden says it's helpful, but you can get dependent on HGH injections and he leans towards a Chinese solution extracted from deer antler velvet (that sounds weird).

It's an interesting concept and different than most cardio/weight training workouts.
Thanks. Exercise is something we will definitely talk about.
I have to figure out how to do it without overtaxing my heart and crashing as well. I used to work out hard (2 years ago), so I need to figure out how to go light and easy.

This isn't light and easy, but it stimulates HGH. Instead of doing 8 peaks, which takes 20 min, it could be cut down to 3 or 4, for 10 min.
Also, it's done to your own personal ability. You have to get in the anaerobic zone, but it's different for each person, for some it would be a fast walk interspersed with a slow jog or fast walk swinging the arms.

It may be better to add target nutrients before bed to promote the release of GH instead of backfilling with the hormone.

Thanks.
I am on a methylation protocol which gives me better sleep (in turn probably raising HGH some).
What are the target nutrients you speak of? Just searching for ideas.

Hi kday, some people report success with supps like Secretagogue Gold. Ingredients are here: http://tinyurl.com/27yuhuf
I'm trying it. I'm not sure that it does much yet but it does taste good.
It's somewhat expensive but if you notice the ingredients it wouldn't be hard to put together your own concoction--much of the formula is based on common amino acids, minerals, and vitamins.
Arginine supposedly helps in larger doses as well but is probably not advisable if you have viral issues.
As you say, good sleep is vital too.

I don't think they do. His body fat is much lower, but he was in good shape to begin with. I think there's a big difference. But you can still laugh at the pics, I would expect you to laugh at me, too if I put up before and after pics.
