An EM after bite is proof that borrelia is in your body. If the rash disappears, it is only the rash that has disappeared, not the infection.
Within 12 hours of a bite, borrelia can get into the nervous system, with or without a rash.
IF the tick is infected with Powassan, the Powassan virus can be transmitted in less than 15 minutes of tick bite.
I hope you got a photo of the EM. Either way, please get to a Lyme Literate MD (LLMD), one who is ILADS-educated, ASAP.
You are very fortunate to be able to address this early. Usually, the outcome is far better but you will need the skill of a LLMD. -
