This topic hasn't been discussed much here so the history is slim.

Does anyone know the best lab for testing for this infection?

Symptoms?

I got well on bactrim and rifampin in the past and when I recently grilled my LLMD about what infections besides bartonella are treated with rifampin, he told me erlichia was one of them.

It was as I was walking out the door af my apt and we are currently working on treating babesia so it will be more of a topic for the next apt.

Just trying to gather more info here.

From my research the reason Doxy is the first choice for medication for the treatment of lyme disease is because it also works on Ehrlichia. Which is often passed as well. I have Ehrlichia, there are 2 forms HME and HGE. I have HME form.

Quest found my Ehrlichiosis. My doctor said that was rare. I think that Igenex tests for all TBDs. But, they don't accept insurance.
