Hello,
Having trouble finding out a answer. I was told about a month ago that I have Lyme and put one 100mgs of doxi. 2 times a day. The problem is no matter when I take it I feel like throwing up all day and nite. I also this summer developed this burn like pattern on my inner thighs which the hospital had no idea how or what it is or caused from. For a month or more the skin was so sensitive that I could not even stand the shower water touching this area. From the burn like symptoms it turned into hives in this area. Now a couple times through out the day I get hives which are located where this burn was. There is no rhyme or reason to when I get them, how long they last or how severe they are. My question is weather the Lyme is causing this and if anyone else has ever experienced these symptoms. Any answers would be very helpful. Thank You for your time and help!

Make sure you don't take Doxy on an empty stomach. Also don't lie down for at least half an hour after taking it.

I'm not sure about the burn unless you've been exposed to sunlight or tanning beds. Doxy does make your skin more prone to burning and you may be excessively sensitive to the medication.

I started with all the symptoms before I started the meds. Thanks for the info though!

Well, I never had hives in my life, but once I got lyme disease, many, many things caused hives.

I got hives from a hormone replacement pill I had been taking for over 2 years. I got hives from anti-inflammatory medications, etc.

I lived with hives for easily 5 months while the dermatologist and I experimented to try to find the cause.

So, with lyme disease, hives seem to become a common occurrence. Your body can't stand things that it used to be able to handle.

Probably a dermatologist could give you the most help. Mine concluded that it was probably my hormone replacement pill right away.

They know the things that can commonly cause hives and so can point you in the right direction.

Once you get rid of lyme, I trust your body will no longer be overly sensitive to things like it is right now.

Hi suzybell, I went to a dermatologist three times with RASHES and HIVES about two/three years ago.

Ever time I went they told me something different. They even looked in books for photos of my rashes and hives.

I think they just give you a name and hope you don't ask any questions, just my opinion.

In the past couple of months ago I also have some crazy rash/hives on my inner left thigh. They have mostly been on my stomach and chest.

Not in a while, but in the past I've had these rashes/ hives anywhere on my body. Please keep me updated on how you make out. You can PM me anytime you wish.

Good Luck! Steve
