Should epsom salts be added to coffee enema?
If so, how much?

- There are specific kinds of prepared enemas that have some forms of magnesium with glycerine or other soothing agents added.
Just off the top of my head and from my skin reaction to some epsom salts, I'd think it could be very irritating to the colon and all the other sensitive area that would come into contact with that. -

The only other thing added to coffee retention enemas is a tablespoon of molasses, which furnishes the necessary electrolytes and also which helps to soothe the colon in order to make it easier to retain for a sufficient amount of time. Otherwise, the enema solution is usually too irritating to the colon, causing one to expell it before the necessary 10-15 min for it to do its job by detoxing the liver via the hepatic vein.
There is a right way -- and many wrong ways -- to do coffee retention enemas successfully. Google it to find detailed explanations of the process if you want more information.

I have never added molasses. Would that cause yeast issues?
I always hold enema for 15 minutes.

You can add epsom salts to a coffee enema as a way of retaining it easier, and also to get more magnesium in. Usually, 1-1 1/2 teaspoons is good.
If you really need to get a lot of magnesium in quickly for pain and spasm relief, you can add up to several Tbs. But that much might also give you the runs and/or gas (which isn't the end of the world, but . . .).
