Can y'all please tell me who are the most experienced forum members (or LLMDs) who know about HBOT protocols for lyme or viral infections?

I just learned there is new alternative doctor in my town with a HBO chamber. However, her specialty is anti-aging stuff, not lyme. I was told by her receptionist that she *may* be willing to help supervise my use of her chamber for lyme treatment but that I will most like need to provide some protocol guidances or names of LLMDs she could consult with.

I know there forum members who are experienced with HBOT, some even who work with it professionally. I am bedridden 6 yrs and can not seek treatment out of town now so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have lyme disease, babesia duncani, active EBV, and recently tested positive through Asyra energetic testing for Bartonella. I also have high blood pressure. Used to be extremely low BP but I am guessing that due to years of coagulation issues or whatever, it has now years later flipped to high blood pressure. At least one LLMD told that can happen with years of chronic lyme where the body has to push harder to move coagulated blood through pathways. However, my own observations show it is also related to pain. The higher my pain levels BP goes up and can not be regulated by BP meds. Since BP meds aren't regulating it as they should that tells me it is an uncommon cause causing it.

Just wondering if HBOT is contraindicated for those with high BP?

Thanks for any help!

Good to see you'd want the HBOT doctor to become educated about lyme. That would be essential before I'd even put my toe into the unit. Lyme patients' bodies are not at all the same as those without lyme, but most doctors really don't know that.

There is an HBOT center in Chico, CA that is very LL. You might find them and gather details.

Allicin capsules (or freeze dried garlic) can be of great help to thin the blood and also lower high blood pressure. See Zhang's book in the ND thread below.

Hawthorn can be a very nice helper. See the Cardiac Thread.

Massage can also lower blood pressure. See Body Work links.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbaric_medicine

Hyperbaric medicine

See section 4.5: "Contraindications" [with a quick scan, I did not see high blood pressure - or hypertension - listed.]

It does list some medicines that cannot be taken during HBOT, though.

Still, you can do a more detailed search through Google for other sources that detail contraindications, HBOT.

You might contact someone with CALDA to find the most experienced centers in your state and see if they can work with the new doctor.

Here is a link to Dr.Fife's study on HBOT and Lyme it also includes the protocol that he used.

Also be sure to check out wildcondor's website. She recovered from Lyme by using a combo of HBOT and antibiotics. This is a great resource for anyone considering HBOT.

You should not be doing HBOT treatments until you fully treat the babesia as it thrives on an oxygen rich environment.

Thanks everyone for the replies and help!

KEEBLER, you always amaze me with your compassionate comprehensive help to source data for everyone. It really helps those of us with neuro lyme who simply just can't find all this on our own. Thank you.

SELECTION1O, wow, HBOT will make Babesia worse??? If so, I am sooooooooooo glad you posted as my Babesia has not yet been treated at all. Selection10 do you have an info guidance source you can lead to me to learn more about that? Something I can print out to show her. That is the best way for most to learn.

I think I would like to establish with this doctor, though not LLMD, since she is local to me and see if she is willing to learn. Mostly I am thinking she might be helpful with detox assistance things because I have methylation detox problems which has made treatment very slow going.

I am already too weak to start with being bedridden. DrH (CA) said the only doctor he felt should help me is DrK but I am too sick to travel there. Plus I don't think he is probably taking new patients...more in teaching mode now(??)

My LLMD doesn't really have or spend time needed in detox cope/assist areas. Maybe this new doc would be willing to learn about lyme protocols which would make her a great asset in this area.

Chico is an impossible travel for me, bedridden 6 yrs. But, she could work with them and learn. The first test for her will be whether she shows willingness and interest in learning about lyme and if not I am in the wrong place.

If anyone has private emails they feel they can share that I could give this doctor to connect her with practitioners who would be willing to help guide her, please PM me.

Thanks everyone for your help.
