Decided to change my diet about 2 weeks ago. Started Juicing a few of my meals.

Totally cut out sugars and carbs. Been taking in alot of proteint and greens and fruits, etc.

The past few days have been real bad... Thought I was just Herxing, but things were getting extreme. I was barely treating b/c I felt so bad.

So, after reading, I think this is a candida Herx.

Symptoms: Real bad depression and crying, crying, crying.. Stomach bloating, lots of gas when I can get it to pass, stomach pains, I'm freezing all day long... Hard to get warm and lots of baths to stay warm, Neuro head stuff really exacerbated.

I've always had a small white coating on my tongue, but never thought I had this, not like this anyway...

So, how do you get through it, anything to ease the discomfort. Does a candybar work ?

Lots of Flue Like symptoms, but certainly, no Flu

Thanks,

Gary

Never heard of that but I would like to know the answer because I am having similiar issues. With hives! I have no idea what is going on but I have read that the yeast sheds like the lyme does leaving depression and all of your other symptoms. I started taking grapefruit seed extract a week ago and having reactions too, but even prior to that I was crying every day, the depression seemed to have gone away but fatigue is awful, I am cold, gassy, with or without sugar. Is there some sort of oral anti fungal for Candida as the pharmicist just informed me that probotics are a preventative and I need treatment if I have yeast infection.

In my opinion, if you have enough evidence to suggest candida or other fungal issues, than stop torturing yourself with diets and whatnot and speak to a physician about real treatment with Diflucan or any of the other prescription antifungals out there.

Also, don't forget that dramatic changes in diet can easily cause many of those effects as well, by themselves.

Lymetwister.. Do get some treatment for the fungal infection (if that is what it is .. sounds like it)...

The symptoms you described could be from yeast .. the symptoms list for candida is longer than the one for Lyme.

Be sure to take a look at it!

I hope you are taking at least 100 CFU's of high quality probiotics. Sounds like your diet is in good shape now! Congratulations!

He is right!! Diflucan is the best way to knock out the yeast.

You need to do yourself a favor and stay away from white foods (pasta, bread, rice, etc) and sugar.

Many LLMD's prescribe Nystatin (pill form is best) as a good preventative as well.. but you must take high quality probiotics too.

Excellent probiotics:

Swabbed my tongue and under my microscope I see what looks like snow tracks. Found some google pics and hard to say if it matches, but definitely looks like Colonies. I'm putting a picture of my tongue in here. Looks worse in the mirror, perhaps the flash took away some of what I see. What do you guys think ?

If you are having yeast issues, you cannot eat fruit. Even though it is natural sugar, it is sugar and just feeds the yeast.

Not so sure if you have a yeast problem but you sure look like you have geographic tongue.

Try the spit test in the morning this test is the best if you have yeast this will tell you, here is a link:

All those cracks in your tongue most likely indicate a B vitamin deficiency.

Probably Candida as well. Diet alone will not kill the yeast. Herbs plus diet -- maybe. Antifungals plus diet -- probably. Best bet -- herbs plus diet plus antifungals.

DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Your dietary changes could easily be causing a cleansing reaction. I know first hand. Years ago I went on a cleansing diet that wasn't even as cleansing as yours and I ended up unable to get off the couch for a week. I wasn't very sick then so I can only imagine how much worse it would have been had I had full blown lyme.

I would slow down on the fruits (they are especially cleansing)and juicing to about 1/2 of what you are currently doing and see if you feel better.

You can also have withdrawal symptoms when giving up soda pop, caffiene, sugar, carbs etc..
