Hello,

My doctor prescribed minocycline, and I'm concerned about my teeth. I am on 100mg once a day. Should I ask to be switched to Doxycycline?

I think I remember my llmd said Vitamin C counters that.

I was on 100mg 2X day for over a year w/no problem of stained teeth.

just watch out for the sun...

Doxy will do it too. Just see your dentist often, they can remove it.

It can permanently stain teeth in children. (if under age 8 or if the crowns are not formed).

Mine said the same thing. I just had a cleaning last week and I had some dark stains between a few of my teeth d/t all the antibiotics (and I was never on Mino). He was like, "do you drink lots of coffee??" I told him I don't drink coffee and that it was staining from medication. He seemed like he didn't really believe it.

Anyway, the stains are easily scraped off during your regular cleaning.

I get brown stains on teeth from doxycycline,
easily removed at regular cleanings. Sound like mino and doxy are much alike in doing this.
