Yes, I have. I know I had yeast because I had a lot of itchiness and a culture done. It is safe with antibiotics.

You have to get a prescription for it though.

Tons of people take it! You can take it with antibiotics. If you're on it for a few months, then you would want to get your liver checked.

That said, I've taken it off and on for 11 yrs and have NEVER had a liver problem from it. My dr said he has never had a patient with elevated liver enzymes from it either...but it's good to check.

I know I have yeast when I start itching. Also digestive problems are a big red flag.

Doc just rx'd 1 per day to go along with the 2 Bactrim DS he also has me on. It is really kicking my butt after 10 days or so; worse herx than the abx but different.

He has been looking at my white tongue for months and trying to battle the yeast with ADP Oregano extract to no avail. This really seems to be doing the trick, judging by the herx.

I am on diflucan one a day as long as I take abx to prevent yeast infections, since I had one already. I am prone to them.

I did not have a herx that I know of with it at all. In fact, my stomach feels better while on it and large amount of probiotics (double strength VSL#3) and it is now covereed by insurance with a docs script for it!

I too have been taking Diflucan for a long time. Even when sticking with a strict Candida Diet, if you have been on antibiotics for any length of time, I would think that this is a wise move along with high quality probiotics.

I juggle between VSL#3 and Theralac.

Good luck.

Agreed w/others; I have taken/do take it with ABX just fine. I would like to add to make sure you get liver and kidney (aks "complete metabolic panel") bloodwork done regularly while you're on it (as everyone who's on long-term ABX should also do anyway...). Like every 2-3 months.
