I called today to set up an appointment to get in to see a LLMD... and I was surprised to find out that I was able to be seen tomorrow.

I'm driving 3hrs to get there... So I know I will be exhausted. I got car gassed and stuff today. Planning on leaving early so I can pull over and nap if I need to.

I also bought a voice recorder today becuase I know that I won't be able to remember a lot... and I won't be able to have anyone with me. I didn't ask if that was going to be a problem...

Do you think the Dr will have an issue with recording?

But, I don't feel ready. I haven't researched as much as I would have liked. Still typing out my symptom list (had to go and buy printer and update computer programs today)

Besides needing to have my medical records with me, and a list of symptoms any other quick things I can do to prepare?

Making the most of your LLMD visit
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/020605.html

Most LLMD's don't have a problem with recording. Just ask!

Good job getting an appointment so soon!!

Good luck and be safe!! [Smile]

Laura,

It sounds like you have done a good job planning, especially with the recorder. I was so brained-fogged at the llmd, my clear-headed husband had to tell me much of what he said.

Best of luck and keep us posted. Take care and God bless.

After a 3hr drive.... I'm sure that I will be extremly brain fogged (what I call brain dead around here at my house)
I know that I will be exhausted by the time that I get there... so I am hoping that maybe my adrenaline will start pumping and I will crash after the appointment.. I can hope [Smile]

Is a list of a ton of symptoms bad? Or should I make it more basic with just the most prominent stuff? I looked at a list of symptoms for Lyme and put all that I had plus others, expanded the info to be specific to me. Easy to delete.

Opinions?

I tell my LLMD ALL of my symptoms. At least on the first visit. Now I pick and choose because of time, he is busy, not to mention expensive. But I think it is important to be very honest and upfront right away. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

If you make a copy of your questions and or symptoms you can give it to the dr. Sometimes they are able to scan it for what they deem important.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Appreciate all the support. If only my children would have gone to bed easily last night.... or slept till a normal time this morning... LOL.
Life. I will post on how the visit went.

Nervous because he is a newly known LLMD, and his staff have no idea about Lyme. I am hoping that I am not driving 3hrs for a 10 min appointment. I told them how far I was driving and that I was seeing him for lyme and that I needed alot more time than the typical appointment, but still don't know how much time was scheduled.

But, at least I am getting started on the road I need to be on! [Smile]

Will post again tonight or tomorrow am.
