Zhang brand of art is the only artesunate I know of in the U.S. Don't know how to convert between artemisinin and artesunate.
There are many international pharmacies which carry artesunate.

I bought Hepasunate online, which is artesunate. Each capsule has 50mg and I take two, twice a day, four days a week. I found this product searching online. I do not know if it works better than artemsisin.
Zhang's artemesia is supposed to have artesunate in it. You would have to look at the ingredients.

Nefferdun -- looks like your dose may not be high enough. Hubby has only taken artemesinin years ago so I have no idea personally if the higher doses suggested in the book can be tolerated. It does mention the need for high dose antioxidants to prevent ear issues with the artesunate.

Thanks for that lnk Bea. I have his books. The babesia book is the most informative and this updates that material. He actually sent an update with the book but I don't remember reading this.
That is the way my brain does things - so FORGETFUL! I also have trouble mulling my way through all the information in books or even on this site. I just get so bogged down. All I want is a CURE. What do I take, how much, for how long!
So he does not say how much artesunate to take. He says it depends on how much you can tolerate, how much it affects your ears and how much you can afford. That is pretty open ended. That is why I get so frustrated.
How do I afford to get well? How does anyone? Two teaspoons Mepron twice a day is over $100 a day PLUS the high dose malarone and the artesunate (which is not covered by insurance when I finally hit the 10K deductable). That is a lot of money.
This is my plan: I just added plaquenil, which is anti-malarial and also kills cysts. I will take what I have left with the Mepron and artesunate and zithro until I see the GP at the end of this month.
Then I am going to ask for a course of Coartem. I will take a four day break from everything, hit it with Coartem and then go back on my new protocol which I think will be malarone, mepron, zithro and artesunate.
I have a 10K deductable so I might as well hit it now and get this over with.

Artesunate from Hepalin is the best choice because it's 100& artesunate. I've taken 400 mg (8 caps) all at once for 5 days..it's a good product
Zhang's Artemisiae is what's suppose to be artesunate (the one Dr Crook recommends), but it's actually a mixture of herbs, and it doesn't even say that artesunate is one of the ingredients...just says artemisia annua extract. I seriously doubt if there is evem 10 actual milligrams of artesunate in it!
This was a total waste of money IMO. I took the most capsules 3x a day that any Dr recommends, and it didn't do a thing. Here's what it says on the label: Do you see any artesunate?
quote: Ingredients: Extract of Artemesia annua (entire plant), red root, sage root, and astragalus root. Zhang Artemisiae,

I will be starting Coartem and then will be put on Malerone when I finish. What is the most successful dosing of Artesunate? Is it best to pulse or to do it every day and how much per dose and how many doses per day. Thank you!

According to Dr. S it should be pulsed and how much you take depends on what you can tolerate. People are told different ways to pulse. Some are so many days on (I do four) and so many off. Other's do two weeks on and a week off.
If taking artemesinin, it would be about 900-1200 mg a day divided into three doses. Zhang's artesunate, which is supposedly what the artemesia annua is according to Dr. S, is 400 mg three times a day.
kereni's doctor told her 50mg Hepasunate, which is all artesunate, starting one capsule every other day. I guess you would just work up from there. Currently I am taking one of Zhang's and one Hepasunate twice a day, four days a week.
Artesunate is supposed to be safer than the other derivatives. I don't see much effect myself.
