Checked for babesia and bartonella. Never thought of babesia, but always had bartonella from tests and symptoms. Anyone?

I was tested through IGeneX for Anaplasma and Ehrlichia, and both were negative.

I was also tested for all coinfections through Fry Labs (I did every test they offered at the time except their Lyme test - I had already tested positive for Lyme through IGeneX and didn't feel the need to retest at Fry), but nothing was positive. The Blood smear was clean (no abnormalities, except there were very few white blood cells - I tend to be low on those, so that was no surprise).

Clinically, I know I have Bartonella based on symptoms (esp. foot pain). I personally think I have Anaplasma, but the LLMD's I've seen didn't mention it. Don't know about Babesia, I don't have the more "classic" Babs symptoms, but do have some of the less common ones - but these could be from Lyme/Bart. too. Hard to know for sure.

I herx on Cipro (Bart).
I herx on Ceftin (Lyme).
I herx on Flagyl (Lyme for sure, could also be Babs).
I herx really hard on Doxy (Lyme, possibly also Anaplasma).

And I herxed too hard (hospitalized, unable to swallow even my own saliva, & still not back to normal on swallowing ability 3 years later) on Buhner's core protocol - especially from the Japanese Knotweed. This suggests Lyme for sure, but not sure what other bugs were stirred up by the Knotweed/Andrographis/Cat's Claw.

Haven't been on anything anti-Babesia except Flagyl, but I'm still at a really low dose (started at 1/4 tablet (250mg tablets), now at 1 tablet and working my way up to 2/day for now...maybe more in the future). Oh, when I was on Plaquenil (for Lupus), I did not herx at all, but it also didn't help much symptomwise, and I took it for a whole year.

I was negative for Babesia and Bartonella through Igenex. Then 6 months after Igenex, I tested positive through Quest.

I had bad herx reactions while taking Rifampin and Levaquin.

annier, for some time I was questioning whether it were a herx or drug toxicity. But I notice one very clear pattern.
After starting every new combo of medications some symptoms were building slowly and some were getting worse very quickly.
Once the symptoms peaked and I went through the hell for 3-4 days I would wake up next day like totally "healthy"person- many symptoms would resolve and I would wonder was I going crazy and imagining all these symptoms.

I also have had abx holidays lasting for 2-3 months. In early stages of treatment I would slip back very quickly during the abx holiday, and as soon I started new regime the pattern I described had repeated itself.

I also experienced very specific symptom on rifampin and levaquin - as soon I started taking them - different abx rounds- I felt like a big whole on top of my brain- sounds funny but true.

But I am of topic, I forget to mention I was negative on Babesia through Igenex but positive for Bab with Quest.

Also Fry lab - returned as hemobartonella/myco.
Quest positive for Mycolpasam which just does not want to go away until today. Still coming back positive. Sucks
