My hubby's regular family doc tested him for Lyme via western blot. The results came back POSITIVE and was prescribed 3 weeks of doxy.
BUT, he is very symptomatic of babesia. His first appt with the llmd is not for 2 weeks!
Question: is it completely useless treating the Lyme first, or should he just wait until the llmd appt then start on babesia treatment? I thought that babesia must be treated first???
Thanks:)

From what I understand, it is best to treat co-infections first. The antibiotic prescribed along with the antimalarial for Babesiosis may also be effective for Lyme.
I hope your husband's appointment goes well.
