So my daughter's dr decided to take the picc line out after she has made quite a bit improvement. My daughter has had lyme for almost three years and her bartonella number has been a consistently 256. We went back last time and they said the number had dropped to 64. Otherthan the exhausted feeling in her legs and the exhaustion she really hasn't had too many symptoms. She has had a few break thru symptoms. She even did a round of Tindamax which usually puts her in bed the entire time and she took it for 8 days days and hardly had any symptoms whatsoever.
So here's my question. She got the picc out on Tuesday and has been feeling good. At this point the dr has her on no medication at all, which surprises me, but at the same time she has to come off the medicine sometime, right?
Last night she was up most of the night and this morning with pain in her knees and legs. Is this normal to have breakthru symptoms like this or should we be concerned? Any thoughts would be helpful at this time.

Only time will tell in such situations. How long was she treated? The doctor may be waiting to see how she fares with no meds.

Hmm. Many drs use either orals or herbs when you are taken off IV abx. And Dr. B's rule of thumb is to stay on abx until ALL sympoms are gone for at least 2 months. It sounds premature for her to go off everything with no back-up.

tls It sounds too early to me, too. My youngest son was on IV antibiotics for 10 months but is continuing with full blown treatment. He is so much better but not enough to quit treatment.
I would think by her syptoms her Lyme and coinfections are still active. She needs to be treated.
My oldest is doing so well you would think there is nothing wrong with him but his labs and 2 syptoms are there. He will be in treatment until labs are better and he has 0 symptoms for 3 months.
I wouldn't wait for an only time will tell.
