Anyone been told that they have a "neurogenic bladder"? I have and I do. I think one reason I feel so lousy is that I cannot get rid of poisonous urine.
I recently had an infection, in spite of the massive doses of antibiotics I am on.
Years ago I had to self catherize and I hope to avoid doing it again. Are there meds that increase nerve impulses? Any luck with them?
My LLMD has referred me to a urologist and I hope he has some ideas. Apparently this is a problem with Parkinsons, MS, et al.

D-mannose is supposed to reduce bladder infections. Reviews at iHerb.com were pleased with it.

I've had neurogenic bladder for years. I have seen lots of meds for the opposite problem (urine leaks) but not to help you expel your whole bladder.
I've never been to urologist though.
I get infections (not bladder, but ear, stomach, whatever) constantly. My pcp is baffled how my daughter and I can both get so many infections taking high doses of 2 different abx.
Just goes to show you that we all have similar experiences, but varied sx.

If you have problems completely emptying could be spasicity (nerves cramping muscles) Baclofen is a good nervous system relaxant for that. I only need 10 mg of that and everything moves easily.
Also a trick I learn from a MS msg board was/is to whistle. The act of pursing your lips relaxes those muscles. My husband chuckles hearing me whistling while in the bathroom.
for leakage & control a product I found. I have'nt tried it. Product from http://www.drlark.com called "confident control"
