My Pharmacy refused to give me the Avelox my doc prescribed. They said that it can cause fatal heart problems.

Is this true? I guess I made an appt with a new doc just in time, this son of a gun is gonna kill me!

I have heart problems and I can't take it. I tried. Biaxin does the same thing to me... makes my heart do flip flops.

I think the Avelox is OK for some people????

the reason they wouldnt give it is because it was supposed to be combined with Biaxin. Forgot to mention that!

No, I would think that would indeed be a bad combo!! Both of them can affect the heart.

Biaxin and Avelox are usually not prescribed together because of the risk of prolonged QT interval. This can cause mild symptoms like feeling faint and more severe symptoms like sudden death.

Drugs like this used to be combined more often until they learned of the risks.

Talk with your doctor. If you have no other option and need to take the combo then they should monitor your heart with frequent EKGs to make sure that there are no changes.
