First time posting on here. I am looking for some reassurance/helpful hints/grasping at straws...

I am 28 and just had my first baby 7 weeks ago. I have had Lyme/Bart/Babs for 6 years and have been figting the battle pretty aggressively. But honestly question if I have been infected my whole life. My Mother is very ill with the same and is on the long journey of tretment currently we and My LLMD questions if I contracted it in Utero.
I was in year 2 of agressive treatment. I had been on Tetra and Diflucan and was only 3 weeks into treatment with Zithro and Mepron when I found out I was pregnant in Nov 2010. (was a huge surprise after being told I had PCOS in August 2010 and likely would not be able to concieve)
In the 9 months to follow I felt absolutely the best I have ever felt in my entire life,as my LLMD had predicted. I felt so good that I started to believe that I was "cured" or that I was never sick to begin with nd that my illness was a result of not taking good care of myself prior to my pregnancy. Anyway, my LLMD also warned that I would mosst likely have a post partum flare and he told me to have the placenta tested and not to Breastfeed...which wa a heartbreaking moment for me when the time came and I had to explain that I couldn't due to my infections and of coure all the nurses and dr's told me that wasn't true and that even Moms with HIV should and could breastfeed...but I stuck to my guns. My sons tests all came back negative for Lyme and all coinfections...hopefully they were accurate.
Witin a week, a knew that this really was real...I wasn't crazy and wa not "cured." I have been in agony pain wise, my muscles burn my joints are stiff and I am contracted in the morning on my worst days and my neuro symptoms are rapidlt coming back aong with all of the other fun things we all sem to battle.

I am now seeing a new LLMD because my original Doc had to close his practice. She will be starting me on Omniceft and then a combo of Omniceft and Zithro after the first onth. fter that it sounds like I may be put on IV therapy.
I feel terrible now with no treatment and no relief but I am dreading the Herx on top of taking care of a newborn. I have had such awful Herx in the past especially the Anxiety/depression part of it is frightening when it peaks.
Other than the fact that I have a close friend who has Lyme/co infections and a mother who also does, I feel totally alone. My fiance tries his best to understand but usually just looks at me blankly or like I have 10 heads, and well him and lets face it, pretty much the rest of the population.

So there ya have it. Feels ggod to share my very real story with those who will understand for once. I hope I made some sense here...I have lost my talent for writing and spelling with the progression of this disease. So I hope I am making some sense here. LOL

You mentioned that you took mepron and zith, Im guessing for Babesia. Have you ever treated Bartonella? I mention this because my symptoms for Bartonella are by far the worst and include many you mentioned...stiff joints and neuro symptoms. You can search on the top of the page for Bartonella symptoms and get some information on here.

Good Luck and congratulations on your healthy baby!!!!

@ manybites~

isn't crazy how it seems to be a string of events that leads into the relapse? Life had really setted down for me during the pregnancy and I swear I gave birth and then all hell started breaking loose and as hell broke loose s did the illness once again. We had to put our beloved dog to sleep 2 weeks after and I am still a wreck. She got me through so much of my illness. I can honestly say that if it were not for her I may have checked out. really dreading going through this round of treatmet without her. She willbe gone a month as of tomorrow. Shortly after that we found out we will be moving to a new home, the baby had some scary choking loss of consciousness thing etc. you get the point. I don't know if anyone else has noticed but when the illness kicks up all hell seems to break loose and well vice versa. Its like what came first? LOL But absolutely to finally get to my point it has raised its ugly head hard fast and strong so that and could not be ignored. One day at a time I guess.

Thank you. Yes he had a vagal response due to an episode of projectile vomiting. Very frightening. Of course his Pedi said it was "no big deal" I think we will be switching.

We are in the Loop with Dr. J whotook care f the testing of his placenta...however I am observing very closely anything that might be a red flag.

Thanks for your input and best of luck to you and your son.

my dd is 6 months old and I had the same relapse after I had her. I felt fine during the pregnancy and after was horrible. I was about 85% well before getting pregnant.

She is already six month and I am still having ups and downs. I have not been able to get where I was before I got pregnant.

It is better than the first month but still not where I was pre-pregnancy. Not sure why this happens? Would be nice to know.

P.M me if you have any questions.
