I haven't had any trouble with it but maybe you are just really sensitive to any kind of sweetener, even in fruit.
I rarely use it except in flavored cherry stevita which I like in water. I use xlylitol made from birch to sweeten things. Have you tried that sweetener?

then I had two "experts" tell me that stevia was OK to ingest.
yes-i was told this. so tried it. and keep trying it. the only thing it really does is make my stomach gurgle-alot. but i just dont feel right. no itching or other gi. no yeast . it just doesnt seem right.
im hyPOglycemic...and i do best with the sugar in the raw...it has the stalk/cane/whatever all chopped up in it -so i think it slows absorptin and doesnt give me sugar problems.
but-mostly i use very little. i am able to sweeten things with some fruit-the ones with skin are best...and when a recipe calls for a cup of sugar i am happy with 1/4 cup.
over the years i just dont like a lot of sugar - or what is considered normal sugar
i have a big bag of xlyitol too-i want to use it. i have been afraid to even try it cuz im so foggy now and i know it is poison to dogs and mine is only 9 lbs and i am so scared i will drop something i made or forget and give her a piece.
but when i am more well i would like to make the xylitol work. its good in toothpaste...

I read something about stevia not being good for you if you are hypoglycemic. I'll try to find it tomorrow. I think it's because your body gets the sweet and then is expecting sugar and it doesn't receive the sugar.
It throws the body off.

I'm fine with stevia, and usually I find it is ok for people. BUT, everyone is different, that's for sure. And, yes, it may be right that for some people, your body is then expecting the sugar.
Frustrating for you, however.
Xylitol I can't take, except very occasionally a little tiny bit. It can upset the digestive system, and it sure does for me---awful! Gurgling, gas, bloating.
Ain't we got fun? Not exactly.

HOW TO READ THE LABEL ON A STEVIA PRODUCT Stevia products made from the highly commercialized and processed compound of Stevia will say stevia, stevia extract, rebiana, Reb A, or Reb-A.
Stevia products that contain these ingredients, stevia Leaf, Stevia Rebaudiana, or Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni, are made from the original Stevia extract (Steviol glycosides) which includes all the Stevia compounds in their natural state using only water extraction process.
ACTUAL INGREDIENT LABELS
Truvia : erythritol, rebiana and natural flavors
Pure Via :dextrose, isomaltulose, cellulose powder, Reb A and natural flavors
Stevia in the Raw (individual packets): Dextrose and Stevia Extract (Rebiana)
Stevia in the Raw: Maltodextrin and Stevia Extract (Rebiana)
Sun Crystals : pure cane sugar, stevia.
Stevita Spoonable : Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni extract (leaves) and Erythritol.

Lostlyme... yes, I agree!! I found out that the NuStevia I was using contains "natural flavorings"... not good! (full of crap is what that means!)
If/when I'm able to go back to using stevia, I will buy organic. KAL has one that is pure. The powder is green, not white.

I had a crazy bout of thrush and an oral rinse (no swallowing!) of teatree oil and water was the one thing that made the difference. Even natural sugars in fruits was screwing things up. If you do not have intestinal yeast try to eat apples or oranges. Maybe the acids in citrus will be better than something like a starchy banana.
