I recently took a drug break from Rif and Biaxin for a month to give my body a break
I Have been eating very clean for the last year and gave up all sugar except for fruit
For the last month I have went on a very low carb diet and I was very tired and felt like sleeping a lot, Thats what drove me to low carbs
Then about the 4th week on low carbs I began not to be able to sleep, It feels like the change happened in a few day period, I went from one extreme to the other and I went back on doxy and today started rif
I feel like I am amped up and I think it is because the low carb diet changed something in my brain chemistry and it began to starve the bugs because I began to twitch all over my body
It is like the bacteria came out of hiding once the carbs were gone
I have slept very little over the last 4 days and everytime I start to dose off I get this Adrenalin rush that feels like it comes from my chest, This sensation does not happen when I am awake but happens right as i am about to fall asleep
Everytime I begin to dose off I get this feeling , Has anyone ever dealt with this and what did you do to overcome it
It feels like the devil waits for me to dose off then right as i am about to sleep i get this surge of energy that keeps me from sleeping
Could it be Anxiety, Adrenals and hormones out of wack, Sometimes I think it is central apnea, Because I do not snore, But always wake up short of breath
Sorry for the long post I just need some sleep
Thanks for any Help

Your sleep issues sound exactly like mine. Without a bunch of supplements and meds, I can't sleep a wink.
Are you sure it's not the break from the meds and resulting increase in lyme symptoms that's the issue?
You'll have to get some sort of sleep supplements and/or meds. Without sleep, your lyme symptoms will only continue to get worse.
