Thinking of upping the amount of turmric I take.
Is it worthwhile to increase the number I take from one a day?

- Read all about it first.
Mostly, some of the supplement dose suggestions are very low.
Those with any kind of gallbladder disease need to be a bit cautious with curcurmin, the extract of turmeric as it can be too strong. Too much turmeric might also be.
Rule of thumb when increasing food-based support supplements: only increase by one, do that each day until you feel ready to increase by just one more.
It's also best to take several smaller doses throughout the day rather than all of anything just once (usually).
Still, it's best to read from many different sources.
Curcumin, the extract, is stronger and, therefore, you'd get a larger dose with that.
Still, with food, use generous portions of spices & garden herbs, as your taste desires.
Some turmeric loose powder was contaminated a while back. Be sure your source is solid. -

- I have a collection of links about Turmeric/Curcumin but it's in my old computer. I can't fire that up now but will in the next day or two.
For now, you might start your search with this: --------------------

Turmeric can be hard on your stomach. I couldn't take high doses because of that.

I take C3 Curcumin 400mg, 2 capsules twice daily for a total of 1,600mg per day. This is what my LLMD recommended for me.
It helps with inflammation, may possibly help with babesia, may also help prevent c.diff... all around good supplement. There are numerous studies on the benefits of tumeric and curcumin. You could read continuously for days!
You may start with one capsule and see how well you tolerate it then gradually work up the dose. Take it with food. It is a spice that would normally be found in food. Don't take this on an empty stomach!
Make sure that your doctor is aware and OK with you starting this supplement. Some supplements and drugs can interact with each other in a negative way.

Curcumin is one of the major antioxidant extracts found in the spice turmeric.

Keep in mind that Turmeric thins the blood, similar to NSAIDS or aspirin. Don't take Turmeric with either med. I'd think you'd get low BP and pass out if you took too much.
