I read one ounce of straight cranberry juice/2 ounces orange juice/3 ounces of water.
Does this sound pretty benign?
I'm giving it to my 10 year old once a month.
What do you think about it?
Thanks

Sounds pretty benign to me. I'm not sure how much to expect from something like that, I wouldn't guess a lot.

A liver flush involves eating a large quantity of fat, such as olive oil. This stimulates the gall bladder to release alot of bile all at once.
Bile saponifies fats...breaks fats down into tiny globules, so that it can be absorbed through the intestinal walls.
This can cause a problem if you have a blocked bile duct, and you'll have a "gall bladder attack." When bile cannot move through, it stretches the duct and causes pain.
Other ingredients in the "liver flush" cause increased peristalsis, so that the intestinal contents move quickly through the system, and you'll have loose stools. This means there is less time for the bile salts to be reabsorbed by the large intestine, which the body does so that they can be reused by the liver.
But when you have loose stools, there is less time for heavy metals and other poisons to be reabsorbed. You could also take something like charcoal, chlorella, or zeolite to absorb the poisons...as Gigi says, to "mop up" the poisons.
I'm not a fan of liver flushes, they seem too harsh. However, the ingredients you listed do not seem to be a liver flush, as there is no oil.

Thanks for the reponse. I got it off the computer, along with other good tips, and so I thought I'd try it.
It was gentle enough, I hoped, and was suggested to move a sluggish liver.
The other things suggested were reputable ideas I had hear of in the past.
Hmmmmmm.....I wonder what those liver enzymes are gonna look like in January?
ugh

- The juice sounds rather tame but be sure to have him rinse his mouth and not brush for at least 30 minutes.
If he's on antibiotics, though orange juice or other sweet juices can be too much and cause candida to grow.
A handful of dark berries would be better than any juice - more complex carbs, and the antioxidants are excellent for the liver, the fiber good for the colon.
I don't think any child should ever do a liver flush. There is one link here with children in mind regarding herx support:
LIVER SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too. -

Keebler,
I need to get more fiber in his diet......real week there.
The list of complex carbs just deosn not look delic.
But, you are corrects......as always.
I wanted to gently move things along since his ALT is still 35 and AST 34.
I thought the cranberry good for the kidneys since his BUN and Ration are high.
I have not done any other type of flush at this point. His system would be too weak anyway....I think.
The antioxidants are high in the strait cranberry juice which claim it needs to be diluted. it's organic and brought it at the coop store in town.
Thanks for your comments.

If you want to keep things moving in a child, then walking/running, some bouncing on a trampoline and clean water.
It helps for them to shower every day too. Nice long shower with a non-allergern soap. If you have filtered shower water, even better.
I agree with Keebler, too young for liver flushes. Juice will cause other issues, too much sugar introduces yeast.

Thanks Jackie.
I have a filtered shower apparatus, but my husband is not putting it on gor some reason he says. Don't understand.
He does keep moving. He drinks a lot of purified water, like 500% oxygenated at the health food store. I buy it in glass jugs.
Hot showers help settle him down after about 10 minutes.
He's primarily water and milk. I try to get the milk with the DHA in it. It's really creamy and good.
I also do the organic smoothies premade for probiotics.
Thanks for your input. I hope you guys are okay. Been thinking of you-

Thanks Healing.
I'm gonna stick with the water and maybe oj/cranberry juice per month mix.
I need new blood draw, but I'm just gonna wait for it. Maybe until Thanksgiving or Christmas break.
Thanks for the idea though.

My .02 cents-
If you want to help his liver, how about supplementing milk thistle?
My daughter and I take it, and have always (knock knock) had good liver checks...

Milk thistle is what I will fall back on if these enzymes don't comr down the next blood level, I think.
Cna I child take Zhang Hepa Formula? Did it normalise you, and I wonder what may be in it. I'll look into that. Thanks desert.

Well I took it for 10 days along with stopping all meds and my liver e.s did go down to the point where I was cleared to go back on abx.s.
They are not normal but just slightly elevated. Not sure if it was just stopping meds or a combo of that AND Zhang plus some Milk Thistle.
How about juicing? I do juicing a few times a week and focus on veggies that are good for liver and blood; beets ( but not too many due to sugar content), garlic, ginger, parsely...Be Well
