I have been treating Lyme for a year and half now and I've made very slow andl little improvement. My arthritis is a little bit better but my shins still ache sometimes and my muscles and tendons hurt really bad especially on the sides of my hips and sides of thighs as well as back muscles. Im always needing to crack things lie my neck and wrists to get relief too. I take 15 mg of morphine every day for pain. I am 24 and I think I've had Lyme for around 10 yrs. I treated babesia for around 7 months. Im on i.v. Rocephin now for fiour months and it seems all that has improved is my cognition in the two months ive been on it. should I be feeling a lot better by now? Realistically, how long should I expect to treat this disease? I've had genes tested for methylation problems and all that, they are all normal. I'm just frustrated because it seems like ts so long.

Please look into treating parasites. parasites/worms can play a HUGE role in Lyme disease and is often an overlooked co-infection of Lyme. Google parasite symptoms and check out the symptom list at Humaworm.

One mos of antiparasitics is never enough and has to be ongoing until symptom free and then maintenance. Treating parasites after 4 yrs of abx and still being sick saved my life.

Some of these ticks are also carrying Filarial Worms and even the best LLMDs are overlooking this possibility.

Check out www.lymephotos.com. This what came out of me after 6 mos of LOTS of antiparasitic herbs and salt/c.

I can understand what you are saying. I am 1 yr. 4 mths. into treating, certainly having all these infections over a decade, too.

I have been/ am treating parasites. What is frustrating to me is I am more symptomatic (it seems) while treating.

Went to the movie theater yesterday, my knees locked up when it was over and time to go- never had that happen before.

What keeps me going is I can actually see the layers of junk/infections leaving me. I believe there are layers embedded in the organs.

And as I treat and detox, seems like it just keeps pulling it out.
I was told 2-3 years for treatment.

I am not the most patient person in the world. But I tell myself while I'm treating, I will treat the best I can, full on.

Because truthfully I cannot keep buying all these supplements forever- and the longer I am at at, the more different antibiotics and herbs I use- I may go through them all!

At some point, it will end, one way or another, so let's do it the best we can during this time.

I don't know if this will work for you at the age of 24, but a big motivator for me to keep going is that I fear if I don't, I'll succumb to Alzheimer's.

That is what I thought was happening before I found out I had Lyme, and I have some younger children, having them later in life.

Maybe you could think about getting your body as clean and healed as you can to start a family one day.

But for chronic's like us, apparently it takes awhile, these bacteria's and infections having reproduced for so long.

doing okay!

katrina your symptoms are alot like mine. The hip/muscle/thigh pain. That has been my # 1 issue.

I started doxy a few days ago and couldn't believe how great I felt. All my pains were gone! I did doxy initially with my PCP but the dose was way too low.

I have been on bicillin, zith, augmentin, rifampin and mino. The rifampin and the mino was the worst. The pains became unbearable so I had to stop.

My LLNP felt it was important now to go back down that avenue as chances are that is what I need. So instead of mino I am tring doxy and next week will add in the rifampin.

For pain I use neurontin or flexeril at night and apply lidoderm patches to my hips.
