I went to see my Lmdd today.

She wants to start treating me for Candida. She believes I have fungus/ yeast in my blood. I am not surprised. Plus, I had the white tongue issue for a long time now.

So, she prescribed Diflucan (200 mg a day).. Any experiences with this drug?

And she told me to only eat vegetables and meats. No grains, no fruits, no dairy (this diet sounds difficult).

I was already gluten free and dairy free... the no fruits is going to be hard.

What is your experience with treating yeast/ fungus..
Did it help with your symptoms?

It should help you a LOT! I hope that 200mg doesn't knock you on your butt. [Wink] .. That would not be good! Did she happen to give you 100mg tablets to take twice a day?

To minimize the die-off it's best to be very strict with your diet for the first few weeks.

Fruit will indeed grow yeast.

She told me to take the medication for a month (and after that she'll prescribe a different medication) .. isn't that a long time to treat this? I am afraid of the side effects of this med.

No, you'll be fine. She'll check your labs next month. So you'll be protected.

I haven't even gotten a test to see if I have yeast, but I guess based on the white tongue.

Sounds like it. And with being on long term abx, it's a "given."

The best thing for me was Renew Life Ultimate Flora at least 100 billion CFU per day, which is too expensiv, but it covered a bit of my sins with sugar at times. That and those dessert gums to curb my sweets cravings. Best wishes fightimg the fungus!
