I've been having no problems with the prescription for my distance glasses, but the lenses have gotten horribly scratched.

The ophthalmologist I saw a couple months ago said the prescription was fine and I didn't need a new pair (he was checking to see if any health problems were effecting my vision).

The scratches were so bad, I decided to get them replaced and where I took them insisted on a new prescription.

The ophthalmologist did do an eye exam so I had the prescription faxed over.

The new glasses are terrible.

This is what happens when I wear them:

In the right eye, it's clear but only in the center of my vision.

The left eye is about 30 times blurrier than my worst day (this is my better eye too).

It feels like I'm wearing an eye patch. I've been getting a headache, dizzy and nauseous when I wear them.

The eye place said to try to get use them. After 3 hours of bumping into things, falling over and feeling sick, I don't want to get use to them.

I NEVER had this problems with my other glasses.

I called the ophthalmologist office and they said to wear the glasses for a couple weeks!

I said that's unacceptable.

I have an appointment to recheck the glasses in a couple days.

The ophthalmologist did a thorough, long exam but his prescription just seems wrong.

How do I get my old prescription back when dealing with this doctor???

I just get this STRONG feeling that he's going to be offended or defensive when I tell him it isn't working for me (like a personal insult).

Should I just pay the extra money and go to the optometrist I saw a few years ago for another prescription?

HELP. I need to see.

Sounds like you've answered your own question...and I agree, go back to the doctor who gave you a better exam & glasses that worked for you before...

I think they are used to people coming back with glasses that don't work. It could be a lab error. Maybe a lab error wouldn't offend him.

Your old eye doc should be willing to give you a copy of your old RX.

Two weeks is a long time to wait and see with those issues!

Get the prescription back. My Dr always hands me a copy of mine. Always good to have when traveling!!

Talk to whoever made the glasses. They should check them. The lab may have messed them up.

This happened with my last pair of glasses. I got the same Rx, but they were terrible!

They put them on their machine and compared them to the lab order. They swore the Rx matched the order.

I asked for new ones anyway. Same Rx. The new ones are perfect.

I have no idea what went wrong. You should not have to "get used" to a bad Rx!

Get the optical place to check your glasses for a lab error. That should be corrected for free.

See if they have a money-back guarantee. Get a refund if they won't fix the Rx.

Eyewear is a competitive business. I hope they'll want to keep you as a customer.
