Ugh! I just went off the antibiotic for strep on Friday and today my throat is getting swollen up again and I'm running a fever which came on suddenly exactly like the last time.

I still can't tell if it's actually strep, a Florinef side effect, or a bartonella herx from Cumanda/Mora which I felt safe in starting earlier today. I restarted after several weeks on A-BART monotherapy when my mood finally stabilized and I wasn't scarily depressed.

It's the same type of reaction that I got when I first started Rifampin long ago which makes me think it's bartonella. I would find it hard to believe that I keep catching strep. Especially since I haven't caught ANYTHING in the past many years until the past few weeks (thus being worried about Florinef messing with my immune system).

Argh! That sucks! I hope your fever doesn't get as high as it did last time.

My bartonella started like that also, I'm sorry to say. "Strep Throat" that wasn't really strep throat almost every month.

I'm sorry you are going through that.

Sometimes gargling with a drop of oregano oil helps me.

Also there is a throat spray that numbs which helps with the pain at night. Just don't swallow it. I spray spray spray until there is enough to gargle with and then spit it in the sink.

My money is on the strep. I doubt you completely got rid of it. Strep can be VERY hard to get rid of for some people, particularly if you were taking one of the milder antibiotics.

Which antibiotic were you on for the strep? I would go back and ask for another stronger one, and take it for a longer course this time. Clindamycin is good for this type of thing.

Also...if they want to retest you, the throat swap may come back negative but that does not mean the strep has cleared. Strep can move down in the body and hide. It's insiduous.

So maybe that sore throat I had the day I went to the doc and received my lyme diagonsis was Bart? I was having pain in my feet too.

I had the soar throat for two days preceding my appointment and I started chewing garlic, raw garlic. 4 or 5 cloves spread out through the day. By the time I go to the doc the soar throat was almost gone. The next d ay I started the med they gave me but it was really gone then. I wonder.

Due to my foot symptoms Im guessing I have Bartonella.

I have had the throat swelling feeling since taking Cumanda/Samento. I know Cumanda is a very good herb for Bart and yeast. Those are my guesses as to the cause. I also have muscle twitching so I think Bart is a player for me.
