I'm new here. I have an appointment with an LLMD next week. The doctor who ordered my tests faxed the results but wasn't sure how to read them. I'm confused as to what exactly they mean. Here they are:

Igenex Lyme IgG Western Blot
23-25 ++
31 IND
41 ++
58 +

Igenex Lyme IgM Western Blot
39 IND
41 +
83-93 IND

Igenex B. duncani IFA
IgM <20
IgG 80

Igenex Babesia FISH Positive

Anyone know what they could mean?

Thank you!

I'm no doc, but from what I've learned about the bands for lyme....

And the babesia tests...

If you have an LLMD, your doc will likely say you're positive for both.

Hopefully he/she will explain what the different bands mean.

If you don't have an LLMD, your doc may say lyme is negative.

But the bands you are positive and IND for are specific for borrelia...

There is a thread around here that explains a western blot...I'm not very good today, so I can't track it down for you.

I hope your LLMD will begin treatment soon. If you don't have an LLMD please post in "Seeking".

Lyme and babesia are tricky, so you'll need an LLMD for that. (Well all tick borne diseases are tricky, so it's always best to have an ILADS trained doc. )

Best,

Greta
