Has anyone who has vertigo/dizziness as one of their symptoms taken rifampin and NOT had it get worse from it? This is one of my worst symptoms and I'm quite scared to start the rifampin, even at a low dose. My vertigo/dizziness is from my nervous system/ brain. My ear tests were normal. Please share your experience. Thanks.

DD had lightheadness/dizziness and took Rifampin and it did not make it worse.

She made a lot of progress on Rifampin.

Good luck in your treatment.

Rifampin didn't give me vertigo, but mino sure did. I just switched over to doxy (problem solved).

Also, my vertigo would come and go, but completely went away with parasite treatment.

Thank you Butterfly and Catgirl.
Catgirl, what parasite treatment cleared up your vertigo?

I started at 300mg a day, then went up to 600mg a day for a long haul, then tried 900mg a day for a challenge for a week.

Did not have dizziness or vertigo at anytime during the use of rifampin.

I agree about the mino, if that is what your rifampin is paired with. It can caused dizziness and vertigo. And it is not a herx-it is a medication side effect, and should NOT be used if you experience this side effect with minocycline.

Good to know about mino. I am on tetracycline to avoid the doxy sun issues so I'll be taking it with that.
