Hey all,

One of my first inclinations that my immune system was going haywire was new allergis popping up. I started to get allergy shots, and am currently almost two years into them.

I wonder if these shots are effective if I am suffering from lyme and babesiosis? Could they be exacerbating my symptoms? Ineffective due to improper functioning of my immune system?

Unfortunately my lyme Dx came AFTER starting the shots, so its taken quite a bit of time and effort to get to my top dose, and I am only really halfway through the therapy. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

Adrenal fatigue can cause new or worsening allergies which I found out.

I first went to an immunologist when my IgE (indicates allergies)was very high and my total IgG and subclasses one through four were very low.

He wouldn't do allergy shots on me as he said I would most likely go into anaphylactic shock. Then again, he said there was no sense even checking my immune system again for about five years.

He did however suggest I take his pamphlets and order HEPA filters, bed covers, dust mite control products,... I didn't go back.

I saw another allergist who also tested me and I was highly reactive to all skin testing and intradermals. He agreed for me to do sublingual immunotherapy with some reservation.

I did them for many months and felt at times my symptoms would worsen after the drops. I stopped them with the doctor's blessing. He said improvement should be noted after six months.

They didn't seem to help. Allergy meds. helped very little except for Sudafed at times.

What IS helping, is subcutaneous infusions of Hizentra. My total IgG and subclasses have reached low normal and my IgE is coming down gradually. My IgE had been hovering around 2,000 since 2005 and is now in the 1200s

I did IVIG for at least 3 years prior but had no changed with the IgE during that time and my IgG and subclasses bounced around. I started subQ this past December or January. Not sure which month.

Im just not sure if I should continue. I did notice that my new dog allergy calmed down..I stopped getting itchy eyes around dogs. But, I just fear it is another stress on my system, but it would be a shame to stop considering I have been at top dose now only 6 months.
