I hate to post about this but I am not sure what to do. Can't see a Dr. right now.
I have been having itching inside the rectum for quite a while. I thought it might be parasites.
Today in the shower I discovered a bump down below. I was horrified and thought the worst. Now I am wondering if it could be a hemorrhoid?
It is a knot/bump right beside the anus and it is a bit sore. The discomfort is not terrible but annoying.
Does this sound like a hemorrhoid and will it go away on its own?

It could be. Try applying coconut oil topically to the lump several times daily...coconut oil is anti-inflammatory and may help (personal experience).

It sounds like an External hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in your lower rectum. Internal hemorrhoids are usually painless, but tend to bleed. External hemorrhoids may cause pain.

Mine stay away as long as I take butchers broom. I can stop taking it for a while, but then slight constipation or diarrhea will make them angry and me miserable.
I've found straight witch hazel to help minimally with the swelling/itching, be mindful of alcohol in most brands. Pure aloe (topical) is supposed to be good for relief, and people still sing praises of the OTC Preparation-H.

Hemorroids and rectal itching are 2 VERY distinctive signs of pin worms. You can purchase over the counter pyrantel (pin x) for the worms. You should read up on the treatment and lifecycle of these parasites.
If you are not already treating for parasites it would be a very good idea to consider that avenue. A lot of folks with chronic Lyme are finding they are infected with several different kinds of parasites. Google parasite symptoms.

What helps me the most is Cortizone 10 cream. I always think I have worms or something worse yet when I use the cream (and I can always feel the bump of the hemorrhoid half in and half out), I realize that is what the itching is.
Hemorrhoids can also cause bleeding if you take pain pills because the pain pills can cause constipation. So don't freak out if you have constipation along with a little blood when you wipe.
At least that has been my experience for about a year now. I do have to say never take blood in your stool lightly but if it is bright red, it is probably your little friend, the hemorrhoid.

preparation h cream helps but my doc finally gave me a dose of ivermectin and it helped alot.

I used to get these. Cortizone worked better than Preparation H. There are also prescription creams that worked even better.
Soaking in warm water is helpful. Google sitz bath.
Also - eat lots of fiber! You don't want to go making this worse. I would absolutely not do the enema.
