Just got back a positive test for chlamydia pneumoniae.
Symptoms started this past July (which as the 3 year mark for Lyme & co. treatement). I did several short courses of Biaxin, which helped, but then I would relapse every time I went off it.
Not sure if this is something new I caught or if it was there all along.
Does anyone have any insights or advice on treatment?
Currently on Biaxin again and about to add in Rifampin.

I tested positive for c pneumoniae which is implicated in Rosacea. I didnt have symptoms of Rosacea- reddening of the cheeks until after taking LDN- low dose naltrexone. But my other symptoms improved on LDN. So I saw it as LDN making my body recognize the c pneumoniae that was already there.
Vitamin D, molybdenum, selenium, organic green tea, low fat diet, all help to strip biofilms and fight off c pneumoniae and lyme. And of course, antibiotics. Clindamyacin might be a good choice after biaxin.

C pneumoniae may be a heme dependent pathogen like strep pneumoniae. You'll see a lot of people at the cpn site also have secondary porphyria, which is related to heme, also. If you decide you want to look at it from that point of view, you might want to take apolactoferrin and egcg. As long as the metal remains in the lungs the pneumonia will continue to reappear.
