In my desperation to find help in treating my Chronic Lyme Disease, I have come across the BX Protocol. Do any of you have any thoughts on this? I read that it is about $17,000 for a year of treatment for Lyme and co-infections.

This question has been posed in recent months. My take on it is: just say no.

Find an ILADS educated LLMD or LL ND to explore your options. [LL means "lyme literate" and that's a very high barre.]

I did look and found no mention by any ILADS educated doctor / researcher / presenter who has suggested BX as an option. Without someone who is thoroughly lyme literate recommending it, I would not go near it.

You can search the archives to find those past discussion threads on the BX. Here is one from a few months ago with some thought to it:

LymeNet Archives, SEARCH

I searched in both medical and general forum and the above thread is the only one with any detail.

What is a LLMD? LL ND? What is ILADS?

WHY you need an ILADS "educated" or "minded" Lyme Literate doctor (whether MD or ND, or both) - starting with assessment / evaluation for lyme, OTHER tick-borne diseases, and other chronic stealth infections - and all that goes along for the ride.

Medical "models" explained here, as to differences in the ISDA & ILADS models of assessment & treatment - and exactly why it is so very important to know the differences.

Topic: Is being a member of ILADS enough?

[No, yet that knowledge base presented at ILADS conferences and in papers is a vital start whether they are a member or ILADS or not - here's why]

I would rather recommend this approach if you have already consulted with top LLMD / LL ND and have not yet found remission / recovery. This certainly holds some good hope and many found this of good help:

This has also been of help to the few who have been able to obtain this kind of treatment:
