I had noticed my tinnitus getting better. I ceased melatonin and suddenly it came roaring back like a locomotive on my eardrums. I didn't connect the two.
A few days later I read that melatonin can help tinnitus. Started back on melatonin, tinnitus quieted within 2-3 days.
I still have it to a degree, but it is so much better vs pretreating lyme. It seems to quiet after my morning dose of enzymes. If I do something that frees up metals it increases if I neglected taking binders.

Keebler, I use chlorella a lot. My experiences with French green clay and diatomaceous earth have also been very good, but the chlorella is much more convenient. While I don't take them specifically for metals, I also supplement with MSM, ALA, some C, and garlic (tablets and raw). Some other stuff I take might be helping me too.
Lymetoo, I am sure I have sensitivity to salicylates. I end up learning the hard way which foods I need to be avoiding since I can never remember which are safe or not. I was surprised to find myself having a reaction after eating some sweet potato - low histamine but high salicylate.
Aspirin and nearly every cooking herb/spice I use give me the same type of reaction I get from histamine producing/containing foods. If something is low histamine, then it is often high salicylate or vice-versa. So frustrating.
Even though my tinnitus is noticeably better, I do get increased ringing off and on, often after I eat. I looked at a salicylate food list, I'm still consuming a lot of those. That could explain a lot. Thanks for sharing your experience, Lymetoo. I am so not looking forward to the next level of active food elimination.

By the way, garlic contains salicylates. When I take allicin, tinnitus goes a little high (not unbearable but getting up there - for a few weeks and then tapers back down).
But that could also be due to a herx response or heavy metals screaming on their way out (so to speak).
Ultimately, when I've taken allicin (Hepapro is the only one any good for my body where I can see it REALLY work) it brought excellent results in most ways.
Neither raw nor cooked garlic seem to raise tinnitus for me, though. -

The only thing I can use to flavor things is chives.

lymetoo, just wondering, is that reaction being wired by chance? Seems like so many foods/spices do that to me.
