Hi <<<<< Lyme Family >>>>>,

Since the incident, I posted about on General board happened, about the toilet shooting me w/ shrapnel, I'm having more IBS issues.

I am taking a good fiber cap' that usually helps when the IBS issue flares and goes tortoise,
trying alternating hot and cold drinks, and so on.

It has been slow 'going for a few days, since this, and today things wont cooperate.

The porcelain piece that hit me, left a minor scraped area on my back, and a light bruise on my belly, left side.

Until this happened, I had tho't I was getting the IBS under better control. I have several appointments I have to keep this month, and this is getting aggravating.

The toilet breaking, and apiece hitting me,was weird,I have tried to have a sense of humor about it, but the 'IBS' bit is not funny.

Just me again, I'm not upset with any comments on General, about the Shrapnel shooting toilet. Wanted to be clear on that. Sometimes humor can help!!!

I'm bugged that the 'IBS' type issue is flaring. So much I need to do,and it is making things more difficult.

Did you ever figure out your food issues? I say it all comes down to the foods.

Have you tried Florastor? It stops me up like a plug!

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,

Haven't got it all figured out yet food problems wise, but am taking Digestive enzymes, that seem to help some. Still kinda limited diet for me.

Uhm, the problem isn't diarrhea, I'm to plugged up,and it's painful! Since the ambulance ride this summer, more often than not, it's constipation type problems.

Would the Florastor help that too? Sometimes it's almost normal, and then any little thing throws my guts into a tizzy.

I'm just puzzled that I can't get things to settle down.

This reminds me of hearing about Lyme and "Bells Palsy of the Gut."

There is a natural remedy called Cascara Sagrada that the FDA is annoyed at because it says it causes undue irritation but its main constituent also cures cancer, so there's that.

You could also try ALOT of magnesium since that is a smooth muscle relaxer.

I have used a tea called Smooth Move, by Traditional Medicinals. Sprouts Market has them, but not all flavors are at all the locations.

There are several flavors, I like the chocolate. It usually is enough to get things going.

Just one caution - it gives a brew time of 10 min ... a few times I just left the tea bag in there; the effect after drinking was severe cramping.

I am with Jordana, that magnesium works really well. Also, Vitamin C Ascorbate powder is gentle on the tummy. Once you drink up to bowel tolerance, you will have a bowel flush.

But in the long haul, it is the food thing . . . have you had food allergy testing? 3+ quarts of water a day? Are you a fan of green smoothies?

(LOL - a clerk at Sprouts said when he first tried them it was like drinking 'lawn clippings')

Oh, one other thing ... with the ketogenic revival there is this thing called bullet-proof coffee - simply butter and/or coconut oil whipped

into a cuppa java. I am not a coffee drinker, so I have found a cup of Irish Tea with a couple of teaspoons of Kerry Gold butter whipped up in the Magic Bullet (with some stevia) makes an

amazingly good drink. I noticed that the fat in the the hot liquid is gentle on the gut and I am no longer plugged up. This is something I can do over the long haul, and not get dependent on

herbal laxative teas.

Hi there <<<<< Lymetoo, Jordana, and NanceLynn >>>>>,

Jordana, I've wondered if it isn't the Bells Palsy of the Gut, more than once. Lately my face is dropping a bit on one side as well.

A friend we hadn't seen for awhile noticed and asked if I'd had a stroke. If I remember the nerves affected run from head down thru the body.

TxCoord, had me try more Magnesium last night and this AM.And I did the Bullet- Proof- Coffee too, that NanceLynn, mentioned.

NanceLynn, we've done the Coffee Bullet, we are on a special Carb reduced diet, and TxCoord was given the recipe, some time back.

Between the Mag' and the Oils, it is finally helping! Have to be careful that it doesn't go to far the other way. My system does, the Tortoise and Hare exchange to often.

I am cutting back on coffee,I enjoy a good cuppa, but have to be watchful. I also don't use Milk/Cream,I use Coconut Milk. If I get much milk//cream product, I get the 'IBS' Hare diarrhea and must race for the restroom[sorry if it is TMI].

I suspect the Milk/Cream Casein is to similar to gluten, or maybe a form of it.

Lymetoo, Hopefully when I get my Neuro Appt. and dental appts' out of the way this month, I might be able to check food/dust/pollen allergies, if Medicaid provides that sort of thing.

Nance', I like the Herb' lax tea idea, my system is weird,so I'd have to start w/ it really weak. I like a good tea,and w/ herbals it doesn't always have to be caffeinated.

I do use caffeine somewhat medicinally, sometimes w/ allergy sinus issues, I get URI's and it helps the breathing. It can set of IC issues tho',then I am up a lot more at night to urinate.

Hmmm, breathe and whiz more,or Wheeze, and wake up anyway trying to catch my breath, which then I'd need to whiz anyhows... What a choice,OY!

Thanks for the info' and ideas, from each of y'all!!!

Jus' Silverwolfi feeling less heavy, and more comfy finally!!
