I have been reading a lot of Th1, Th2 and Th17 dominance and balancing in the immune system with regards to my PANDAS/PANS/Lyme son. What do you with more medical knowledge think about this?

When my son is "healthy", he has all his tics and OCD symptoms - these are his Lyme induced PANS symptoms. When he is sick with a virus/cold/stomach bug, he gets the normal symptoms for that illness, but his tics and OCD decrease dramatically. As he recovers from the illness, the tics/OCD come back.

My ND says PANDAS/PANS is more a Th2 dominant autoimmune disorder. So does the fact that his PANDAS/PANS symptoms decrease when he has a cold virus mean that the Th1 arm is working and the Th2 is suppressed? Do I then want to increase Th1 dominance?

(I know it is not that "simple" but please humour my line of thinking). Thanks!
