My sleep is really getting twisted around and I'm not sure how to fix it.

It's almost completely reversed now -- I just woke up. I know that is really really bad for me. I don't have insomnia, I just don't sleep at night.

I sleep all day.

Has anyone successfully reversed that once it started?

It has been a long time but when I would feel sleepy during the day, I would set an alarm, only giving myself half an hour and try to switch over so that I was doing most of my sleeping at night.

Then I'd stay up at night until I got really tired and (Buhner recommends) take liquid melatonin. Has to be liquid. And when I woke up around 1 or 3, either stay up till tired again or take more liquid melatonin.

It's great. I like Nutritionworks Sleep Soundly Melatonin. I think it tastes better than Natrol. I follow it with a Valerian capsule. As you can see, it's almost 4 am and I'm up. I have a lot of Lyme related health problems that

I take various herbs and supplements for. It's important to get them all taken before about 7pm in case some of them cause sleeplessness. I didn't do that before going to bed

so I've had a restless night. It's important to set an alarm during the day if you feel tired and not let it go over 15 min to 30 min each time. I try, while treating myself for Lyme and Co, to be as normal as possible for my family. It undermines

their feeling of security and everything being O.K. if I'm sleeping too much during the day. Families of Lyme victims can't understand why their loved ones are still sick.

Well you also start to wonder how much better you'd feel with just a normal circadian rhythm.

I was never a good sleeper anyway but staying up all night and sleeping all day makes me feel sicker.

I agree. There's nothing like a good night's sleep and with Lyme it's hard to get. Sleeping during the day is better than nothing but it makes me feel a little sluggish. Having a good book to read a little of each night is helpful. The liquid melatonin takes about 30 minutes so I start the book and after a couple of pages, take the melatonin. Also as a precursor, I take either of these - Cortisol 1 capsule or one 5-HTP.- in the morning.
