My doc recommended I get a Doug Coil, which I have ordered and he started me on doxycycline and tinidazole.

I have read the following:

1) Do not use more than once every 12 days, at least in the beginning

2) Start with only one frequency for 1 minute, then increase to 3 or 4 frequencies for 3 minutes each

3) Keep the coil 6 feet from electronics

My questions:

1) Do I need to stop antibiotics prior to starting Doug Coil treatment?

2) How do you recognize a Herx reaction when you feel so crappy to begin with?

3) Will I know in the first minute of using a frequency if this one is a good one for me to continue for 3 minutes, and how will I know?

Any thoughts you can offer someone starting with a Doug Coil are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Adding to your list: get an excellent surge protector for your machine. Do not operate during a thunderstorm and - unless it's a preprogrammed device that looses its memory when unplugged -

always unplug when not in use (as a power surge can fry anything plugged in - and even on clear days, power can surge when demand is high). Unplugging is best as even the best surge protector is no match for a lightning strike or even some power surges beyond the little lamp blimps that we might be used to.

Fortunately, those are not often yet it's just a good habit.

garnet,

Welcome (thought sorry for why you are here). Looks like you've already done some study. And you may have seen the link below, if not, be sure to scout it out.

As for the every 12 day schedule, that is for lyme only. Other TBD (tick borne disease) can be treated in those days off - in line with common sense, of course.

1) Do I need to stop antibiotics prior to starting Doug Coil treatment?

Bryan Rosner's book explains more about how to juggle both antibiotic treatment and rife and - as I recall - you'd need some break from an anti-lyme agent for a bit before using rife.

Still, you can find out more here:

2) How do you recognize a Herx reaction when you feel so crappy to begin with?

Oh, you will know. You might feel crappy in some new and "who would have ever thought" sort of way.

Or just more fatigued, perhaps dizzier. Try to plan for a time when you can rest more and have good food prepared in advance for the most part.

However, it's best to try your very best to AVOID a herxheimer reaction, at least as best you can or to minimize it. It's no badge of courage and can be detrimental to your body.

As rife can mobilize heavy metals, there are some specific things to consider as well (cilantro, chlorella, etc.) as well as basic liver support.

* within the first minute? Oh, that would be so very nice but, uh, sorry - not.

"how will I know?" It could take a few days, actually, though most likely the next day.

The discussion thread has some detail about that.

D Bergy is a frequent poster there and I'm copied many of his posts (or points) to a study page for myself. While that tread is very long, indeed, it's well worth scanning.

Thanks, Keebler!

D Bergy's posts are very well written and informative, but his posts make me wish I bought the same machine he is using! [Smile] I purchased the Doug Coil prior to checking out any Lyme forums, based upon my doc's recommendation, so I'm hoping on this thread I can find others who are using the same machine with success.

Lymetoo, with my brain fog, I can't even remember where I originally posted this! Thanks for putting it where it belonged.

We ALL wish we had the same machine as dear Bergy and that same kind of clear methodological problem solving brain capacity of his, too! [hope that reads as a compliment should he see this]

I think you can do quite well, though, with the Doug Coil. Hope you find others with your same machine but, really, the frequencies are the same.

Hope yours might do some "sweeps" as that sure seems like a nice feature (one that I long for).

Thank you for the compliments. I try to be methodical but even I can learn something after ten years of experience.

The coil should work fine, it's just more limited in run times and you can't do sweeps with it.

Early on I used 306 Hz because the inventor of the coil watched spirochete die under the microscope while running it. Later I found the higher harmonic of 612 Hz worked better with the GB-4000 and contact amp. Try both. 306 Hz may work better with the coil.

I now use only two frequencies. 2016 Hz and 840.6 Hz. Another original Doug frequency is 432 Hz. It did not appear to work for my wife but it has helped many others. It might be for a different strain. Not sure.

I am not sure what form of Lyme 840.6 Hz hits, but it is a form that is likely not spirochete. It could be a cyst form so I would give that a try even while using antibiotics. If you get a herx from using that frequency by itself, I would like to know. It would lean the evidence a little more toward cyst form.

Even if you are using antibiotics, you can treat coinfections with frequencies. They can't change forms like borellia. If you have Bart, that is the perfect time to hammer away at it while it is under stress.

832 Hz is a good Bart frequency.

Good luck.

Dan

Thanks, Dan. Of course, after I ordered my Doug Coil I noted in my notes my doc told me to use it AFTER the 18 months of antibiotic treatment I just started. So I have time to work with it, to see if there is any effect while I'm on antibiotic therapy.

My blood work was negative for the tested co-infections, but perhaps I can experiment with those frequencies for now.

Would you explain what "sweeps" are? Is this where your machine covers a series of frequencies?

Thanks,
Lauren

Yes, it just automatically goes through a range of frequencies, covering everything in between.

I use sweeps more for cold or flu viruses when you do not have a specific frequency due to constant mutations.

They can be helpful for Lyme also, but you can do well without them.

It doesn't hurt to run frequencies for Lyme when on antibiotics. It is just that most of the frequencies hit spirochete form and there will not be a lot of those while using abx.

No harm in trying the coinfection frequencies. We have been fooled more than once by negative tests in our house. I take the position that none of these tests can prove you do not have an infection. They can only prove you do.

Best regards.

Dan

Thanks, Dan. I've ordered the DNA frequencies for viruses that came up positive in an antibody panel I did last year, when I thought my chronic fatigue was due to persistent EBV or HHV-6. I started anti-viral treatment at that time, based upon A. Martin Lerner's work, but stopped when other life events took precedence.

I figure while I'm on antibiotics, I can experiment with treating these viruses as well as the possible co-infections and see what happens.

Your thoughtful, intelligent posts have been very helpful to me. They are very much appreciated.

For myself, physical fatigue was caused by mycoplasma. There can be multiple causes and I do not have Lyme but I do have Crohn's disease.

I have found five pathogens involved in my disease. Lyme is similar in this respect. Immune system gets compromised and it is possible for other latent or newly aquired pathogens to increase to a level that causes disease.

It was not one pathogen but a complex of them in my case. I learned that concept treating my wife for Lyme and coinfections. I applied it to Crohns and so far I am living a normal life again, without medications.

None of this is easy until you identify the pathogens specific to your specific case. Once you do though, you can recover nicely.

You don't have to be 100% right. Just right enough for your immune system to get back into the game.

Yes, I also ordered frequencies for some bacteria as well, mycoplasma being one of them. I wasn't certain which one to get, so I figured I would start with the regular panel.

I also ordered dental pathogens because my problems started within a year after my first root canal was done in 2001. When this tooth was finally removed in September the roots were black/rotted.

Glad to hear you are doing well with the Crohn's. Given that H. pylori can cause inflammation in the stomach, I should not be surprised at other pathogens causing havoc! I'm looking forward to working with my machine.

My first indication of H-Pylori was stomach pain and reflux. I had two tests for H-Pylori, one was a biopsy. Both came back negative. I believed the results, at first.

I treated everything I could think of with no results. I really had nothing left to try but H-Pylori. The first time I ran the frequencies my pain went away as I ran them. The pain started coming back 18 hours later. Then I read that it had to be treated for several days.

I then used just 676 Hz for it as that was a pretty well established frequency for it. I never did get the infection back in my stomach, but did find out it was throughout my intestinal tract not too long ago.

I had only ran the frequency for no longer than ten minutes. That was long enough to kill it in the stomach, but not long enough to kill it everywhere else.

One day I decided to run it for twenty minutes just on a whim. About ten hours later my guts were on fire. When I drank water it felt like I was drinking acid. I went home early from work. Luckily that only lasted a few hours. Afterwards my Crohns symptoms reduced another 15 to 20%.

I ran the 676 Hz frequency several more times for twenty minutes and longer to get rid of the rest and no problems after the first run.

Mycoplasma needs to be run for an hour or longer to really kill a decent amount. Don't start that long, but it is more difficult than H-Pylori. It took me several weeks to really knock it down substantially. That was only treating once a week due to my schedule. Again, proven by diminished symptoms and a good amount of diahrea after the first couple of treatments.

All my pathogens accumulate heavily in the intestinal tract.

Let us know how it works for you.

Good luck.

Dan
